Arrow To rotor or not to rotor?

What is the general consensus of Impreza owners who do NOT race their RS:
Are vented/slotted or cross-drilled rotors worth the money?
My opinion has always been that cool brakes are a good idea but not worth the money for street driving.
I like the look and the idea so much I've been considering them as one of my next mods.
