Another bad cop experience
Yesterday, on the way back home from the track. I got pulled over on Boniface. The cop walks up and says, "looks like your racing through traffic." I tell him that the old lady in front of me kept hitting her brakes and speeding up so I went around. Then he says, "It's probably because you were riding her ass." I was thinking, she was old. Puhleeezzz, the woman would've had to be fine for me to ride her ass and I wouldn't be riding her ass if she didn't keep stomping on her brakes. He then says, "Can you roll up your window?" I rolled it up and he then describes how my tint is illegal because it is too dark. He says, "It can only be 75% and your's looks to be somewhere around 60%. The people who tinted your windows should have told you that." Good thing the sun was shining that day because if it was dark I'm sure he would have said it was darker. Next, he tells me that my exhaust is too loud and that anything other than stock is illegal according to some municipality ordinance. I tried not to make any faces that showed my disgust and just said, "Uh-huh, Uh-huh, Uh-huh." Finally, before he leaves he mentions with a smirk, "I pulled you over because the people who have cars like yours have been running from us. They think it's fun. I'll let you go with a warning, get that stuff fixed and have a nice day."

Hmm...Kinda weird how i never got pulled over in my truck...i had a dual exhaust with dual glasspacks on a dodge V-10 and that truck was louder than your car when i got on the gas and i did that alot lol....ahhhh the good ole days of wasting gas are gone...anyways i passed cops with it all the time i even had them follow me but i never got pulled over....kinda weird how things change when you drive a sports car.

I've been followed and warned once in awhile, but usually I'm left alone.... I've had illegal front signals on for about a month now and haven't gotten any response, drove around without a hood for awhile, only got one cop to respond, but he didn't pull me over either... driven like crazy redlining it, revving under bridges (), etc, and no one cares...! Sure it's not the V-10 glasspacked power, but it sounds pretty crazy anyway.
Winslow, good that you didn't get ticketed, he's just another officer to add to the list of carriers of the bad cop no donut syndrome. |

I think if he wanted to be an even bigger butt-hole he could have given Winslow a ticket for all the stuff he mentioned.
It sucks that people with nice cars are going to get pulled over simply for that fact, but it is something you accept when you mod your car to be flashy. When I make my cars stand out, I do so with the thought that it will stand out for EVERYONE! So I know that it will make people turn their heads, but I also accept that the cops are going to be watchin me even closer. I think the tint law is a joke, and the exhaust...damn, how about some damn Harleys! But just watch how you drive, and keep any eye out for cops, and hopefully you can stay out of trouble. just my .02. Kris |

Winslow,
You should have asked the specific reason why he pulled you over. If he didn't give you one (like he didn't) then ask him for his supervisors number and call him. Tell the SV that one of his traffic officers is harassing you. That usually does the trick and they usually won't bother you again. Scott |

Just ask for his badge number and business card, they'll leave you alone if they know their in the wrong.
If they gave me a ticket for my exhaust I would fight it saying that there are a lot cars running around with much louder exhausts then mine (Harleys, Big Ass Trucks). He would have given me the ticket because I let them know that cops suck . I say :monkey: . |
