Hey, maybe we can use this thread to keep all the SCIC hip-hop fans informed of concerts going on in the southland. I'm pretty out of it right now cuz I'm crazy busy at work, and I've got no MTV, so I don't really know who's on tour...

Is De La on tour? Mmmmm, might have to go to that one!

Another Filipino hip hop head here. Well, I grew up on hip hop, but lately I've been making the transition to progressive house/drum n base. But when I went to Audiotistics, it brought me back to old school hip hop that I still love. I'd have to agree with the other fellas on Low End Theory... it has my all-time fav track- Scenario.

Kooya: For me, "Rap" has lost its meaning since '93. Oh, and I am Hip Hop too.

I'll give the Orishas a listen, thanks! I used to battle for Bham Tribe, Daisy Age, and Panic Zone during the late 80's, early 90's. These crews were mostly comprised of Filipinos, Latinos, and Blacks around the LA/Valley area. But like you, I started messing around in 5th grade, damn that breakdancing was fun! Parties, Girlies, and I was in the best physical shape in my life. It would be fun to get back into it.

I'll look out for any subies on the Parking Lots of these upcoming events. Hope to see you guys there.

DJ Evil Dee rocked quite a few joints before the show with archived visuals that covered most of their 13 year career.
Maseo, Pos, Dave, & Prince Paul excellently performed joints like:

Oooh OoooH
All Good
Me, Myself & I
Stakes is High
Ego Trip
Itzsoweezee
Bay Phat + more joints of Bionix etc. etc.

It was a fun-filled night to say the least, got home at 3:30am.

Swollen Members were alright too, but I'm still trying to feel that.

To my delightful surprise, I got flyers advertising that the Roots are coming back to LA for the Smoking Grooves tour along with Jurassic 5 & Company. Plus new Public Enemy & Rasco LP's.

No subies were sighted.

So, I had to drive to Garden Grove and back yesterday morning, and what did I hear in the middle of Kevin and Bean? A Jurassic 5 clip, the single from their new album. Apparently KROQ is going to be playing it...

What is this world coming to? Good hip-hop on KROQ?!?

Albums out on October 8th, I think.

Anybody going to either of the Roots shows at HOB Hollywood, the 26th and 27th? Me and my buddy got tix to the Thursday night show (Friday was sold out by the time I found out about it).

They're playing Anaheim too, on the 25th, if anyone is interested.
