Default Have you put Impreza 2.5RS or WRX parts on your 2001 Forester ?

I am hoping to take advantage somewhat of the WRX popularity.
Remember how hard it was to get anything Subaru before the WRX?!
I figure that there must be something useful to come of all this WRX trendiness.

So I'm looking for any tips for some compatible RS or WRX upgrades.

(and of course it's all at http://www.4ester.net/Forester_techstats.htm )

But, I'm wondering about...

1) Has anybody put the WRX Automatic pedals and dead pedal on a Forester ?
2) How about the RS or WRX floormats ?
3) " " " door sills?
4) Stock WRX, struts with STI springs ?
5) Stock WRX wagon, struts and springs ?
6) WRX side skirts or WRX aftermarket sideskirts ?
7) WRX aftermarket gauge cluster for pillar ?

Thanks

C. Head unit (am/fm/cd/6 disc CD) from 02 WRX

OK....my .02

I put Razo aftermarket ones on mine. Dead pedal too. Really liked them. In fact, I need to order some for the RS now...

They should work... (RS not WRX unless you have an '03 Fster)

Again... They should work... (RS not WRX unless you have an '03 Fster)

Hyper did this. Stock WRX springs IIRC. He hasn't complained. Remember, though, you need to use the Forester strut-tops.

Should work fine, with the Forester strut tops.

6) WRX side skirts or WRX aftermarket sideskirts ?
Keep dreaming. Anything will work with enough modifications, but is it really worth it?

7) WRX aftermarket gauge cluster for pillar ?
Probably not. The center gauge pod for the RS works, though. With the cool adapter, you can fit 3 2" gauges there and it looks great.

Talking put and continuing putting

my contribution:

side skirts DON'T fit (I tried ...)

if you will be using WRX suspension go with wagon setup

gauge cluster...you mean the tach/speedometer, that thing? if so it doesn't fit (tried )
a pillars don't fit either, but the console performance pack does, and I am trying to get my hands on it.....I could wire boost gauge to gas pedal

you can use front brakes from WRX (rotors/brackets) but imho useless mod. I did it and now realise that I should have bought SS brakelines

ok, headlights don't fit either, so don't try

seats fit

momo steering wheel fits (tried, love my momo )

pedals....screw WRX, get STI

exhaust from WRX doesn't fit

em....about all I can think of now

What doesn't fit about the side skirts? Is it the same length or just the holes don't line up? How difficult you think it would be to modify it?

length is different, all the angles are wrong....

so you'll have to cut it, cut the edges, weld them....brr, and all these for pretty much stock look?

but if you are skilled and have all the tools, you could give it a try

I'm after side skirts, front and rear underspoiler for a MY02 Forester. Not the SG but the SF5-SF9 Foresters. Just wondering how much they would cost.

Default Thanks everybody.

That answers a few questions for sure.

I love these underspoilers from the UK. I didn't see those in HyperRev or Subaru USA site. Of course S.O.A. is holding out on our US Foresters so far....

I would like to know price + shipping also for the full ground effects kit posted above.
Those look much better than the Zerosports "clip-on tie" looking underspoilers.
Maybe a body shop could make these look like they are molded into the bumper by filling the seams ?!

Nice.

Roo- Are your STI pedals Forester specific or just STI generic automatic ?

There is a forester over here with that aero kit, I have to warn you that it looks crap if the car is at standard ride height. If I see it around I'll try to get a pic or 2.

Default uk dealer willing to ship

I've known Danny for at least 10 years and have asked him if he can help you guy's out with genuine parts he is happy to help.
He is after-sales manager for Mainland Subaru in UK and if he can help you, he will help you.
He will give you good discount, but as you can appreciate shipping worldwide doesn’t come cheap.

Self Adhesive??? I think not. The adhesive would melt. Usually they come with a metal clamp or clip to finish the end, kind of like how you would with an ace bandage, only using a big hoe clamp...

Try Summit Racing, Jegs, Racer Wholesale or some place like that...

Why not use the same things that people use to wrap headers. I'm sure any of the vendors in Classified forums carry them.
