Default SQA/Test job opening at my location (Germantown, MD)

We have several openings on one of our large federal civilian projects for an experienced Software Quality Assurance Analysts/Testers. Please find a description of the position below - please pass it on to friends & colleagues who are in search of new opportunities.

Software Quality Assurance Testers/Specialists

Job Description/Highlights:
In an effort to meet the needs of a large federal client, our firm is seeking candidates for several software quality assurance testers/specialists. Location would be at client site in Germantown, MD. This is a full-time/permanent position with our firm.

The SQA Tester/Specialist function is responsible for developing test procedures, following SEI CMMI standards, developing test scripts for all software to be tested and implemented. Also, SQA Test function is responsible for reviewing all test results and providing a recommendation as to the risks associated with the implementation of software. SQA Test activities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Review and understand functional requirements documents
Review and understand detailed design documents
Develop test plans, defines detailed test scripts, and develops/locates test data.
Execute test scripts, analyzes results, and document and manage defects.
Review test output and identify software defects
Communicate test results with developers
Perform regression tests
Review test results with Quality Control team
Review test results with the client representatives.
Develop subject matter expertise for assigned area.


Job Requirements:
Strong analytical skills and application/system testing background
Coordinate defect resolution with developers and retest fixes.
Integrate test review and assurance activities.
Perform acceptance test review and assurance activities.
Use automated testing tools where appropriate.
Areas of experience: Unix, SQL/Oracle, Toad, Web Testing, Backend processing (batch, file layouts, file creation.)
Provide final internal review and recommendation of all software planned and scheduled for production.
Coordinate, communicate and interact with user communities including operational staff, management, client staffs and other users defined for specific software.
Ensure that documentation requirements and procedures meet or exceed SEI CMMI Level 3 standards.
Complete special assignments and other relevant duties as assigned to ensure a successful completion of the project./testing experience, in general, would be considered a strong PLUS
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Consulting:

· You will be responsible for serving as a competent, effective member of client delivery/assignment teams.

· You will focus on completing client work in accordance with established plans and quality standards.

· Concurrently, you will focus on building your competencies in the areas of basic consulting, assignment performance, functional skills and in embracing and practicing the core values of the institution.

· You will also be responsible for task coordination and management and contribute recognized functional expertise to client deliverables.

Education/Certifications or equivalent required:

B.S. - B.S. - Comp Science, Bus Admin, Acct or related field

I'm primarily a metrics analyst, dealing with opeational and IT processes and their improvement. I'm also a project manager (but then again, who isn't).
