Body care
i wonder what brand of cleanser and wax you prefer for your car?
Can you name the brand, the type, and also the steps for the procedure? Thanks all.

Well, my brother sells Amway products, and they make a great car wash. It's called Mint Condition. It is sooo nice. Just wash as you normally would. It even removes bugs and tar without bug n tar remover.
I've tried almost every wax product out there, and I can tell you that Meguiar's is hands down the best. Stay away from that Prolong Paint Sealant stuff, cause it will take the paint right off your car. I usually use a coat of cleaner, then two coats of polish wax. The shine is unbelievable. In between waxes I use the Meguiar's Quick Detailer, and it keeps it nice. As for upholstery, I use Blue Coral Dry Cleaner. This stuff was made by the man upstairs. However, don't follow the directions on the can, because it tells you to let the foam sit for 15 minutes. Get yourself a Shop Vac, a detailers brush, and a bucket of water. As soon as you have sprayed your desired area, use your scrub brush to thoroughly cleanse your joint. I know this sounds like an infomercial, but it really works, trust me. Just an opinion I guess. |

Never buying Meguire's crap again...
Their clay bar sure worked, by the end of the first swipe there was no clay left on the bar.... it was all over my car! Took me about an hour to scrape it all off then buff with wax to get the specs of clay off. Lousy! Sucks! I use Mother's Carnuaba wax and whatever car wash soap I have lying around. Don't forget the RainX on the windows! |

Did you use the clay after spraying the area with the detailing spray bottle...the liquid will make the area frictionless and allows the claybar to do its magic...Clay bars are like magic...even if you run your hands on a hood that has been wax, you will feel some fine grits...use the clay bar on half of the hood and then was/polish...you can defiently feel difference...SWEEEERTTTTTT!!!

Be careful with the clay bars because it is real easy to add scratches to the finish if you get road grime/grit caught up in it. Body shops will use it to remove overspray. A good cleaner/polish, such as Meguires, contains a very fine abrasive particles which actually smooth the surface coat. Follow up with a coat of wax containing good grade carnuba, again, something like Meguires.
Use a good quality 100% cotton cloths, like diapers or especially flannel. Do not do the 'wax on, wax off' circular motion unless you like circular swirl marks in the reflections. Apply and remove as air would flow over your vehicle (for that all important HP bump). And speaking of swirls, use a good glaze such as fill 'n glaze prior to the protective wax coat. Hope this helps. |
