Once again Crawford steps it up again for the Subie community in road racing.

This car is amazing compared to what it is up against It has stock interior, stock block (I think still), 2004 STi not an 2006 just has 06 Widebody Kit & body work...

Russ War can drive like no other...I mean weight wise I would think this is one of the heavier cars in its class...

Congrats Crawford once again steping it up and winning seems like a trend...

If you guys are back at MidOhio this year I'll be there to watch again...

GO STY's!!!
Not trying to bash two great teams at all so don;t take this wrong I am sure they would say the same...

The AMS evo is a full out race car as stripped as it comes I know I saw it at MidOhio!!!

I am pretty sure the RobiSpec/GSC Motorsports is too but can't verify never saw it...

I do knwo this the Crawford Sti if the same form as it was at MidOhio was a full interior I mean OEM stock everything there full interior car on a stock block 2004 STi. It only has an 06 APR Widebody & OEM body...

And to clarify, our AMS TA1 EVO is not a full carbon fiber car. The doors, hood, roof and trunk are CF. The car weighs approximately 2750 lbs.
Compare weight there was an article about the SCCA MidOhio race the Crawford STi is like 500lbs heavier then the AMS evo...Oh and BTW weight means a hell of alot when it comes to power to weight ratio....

I am a big fan of AMS, Buschur, GCS, WOrks, ESX, DynoComp, Lock Brothers, etc etc etc...Its nice to see these cars taking the world by storm just wish they would get into more mainstream race groups to kick some ass & get some national coverage....Cough cough Speed World CHallenge cough cough

Several in-car videos of the Crawford STI are available on YouTube. They are fun to watch. The motion of the driver's hands look like he's just going for a Sunday drive meanwhile the car is flying. Just search on Crawford Performance.

The common theme in the videos is that either other drivers are humble enough to get out the way of the Crawford STI or brash enough to try to stay in front but eventually run off the track.

They where at MidOhio last year for the SCCA runoffs. When I talked to them they said they would be back this year too...So that another one you could go see...

Last year the AMS evo was there too as well as 2 Robispec evos... The STi and evos really turned some eyes at that event...Even the diehard muscle car guys as they blew around z06s and c5s ok the whole field they where out there with.

Congrats to Quirt Crawford, the drivers and the rest of the team! Great showing. Definitely shows the performance potential of the STi, which is too often portrayed as being "softer" and less trackworthy than the EVO.

congratulations, on a very good result. nice to see the subie showing its potential.

but, to say "subaru dominates" is a bit of an over statement, you did enter the unlimited class, and AMS did smoke everyone by what? 2 seconds?

maybe dominated one class, but not the event.

not taking anything away from a fantastic result, just think the title needs work.

Great results! I hope we beat the EVO's consistently. I wonder if they had a quick ratio steering rack in that STI.

Do they use a FMIC?

AMS is a real contender and I think with the right R&D (downforce) and other essential things may be a real contender against the Cyber Evo...yeah you heard me right the God like Cyber Evo....

All my point is for what the Crawford STi is (stock block, full interior, power windows etc etc in a 2004 STi) it has given me alot of respect for Crawford because that car for what it is really does a great job at being a leader especially if you would add up the total price in what form it is now. I mean you can drive the Crawford Sti on the street as a daily driver.

I am sure AMS would back me up that the AMS evo wouldn't be a daily driver it has evolved to a full on race car.

^^ you guys sure it is stock block??? I haven't checked to see if it is or not, but I would think that an "engine" performance shop would build the block a little bit at least to run in these comps..

does anyone have a good explaination of why the gmg and ams car suddenly ran 2 sec faster on their last lap? How is that possible, a WHOLE 2 sec?

They were probably being reserved and feeling the track conditions and car out at that moment in time and then just went balls out for a great time. And the Robspec/GSC Evo driven by Nils is his personal daily driver. It is not an all out track car like the AMS TA1. Its not even close. And the AMS TA1 isnt a track car to the extent of the GMG Porsche. Its just a stripped and weight reduced chassis.

This Crawford car has definately peaked my interst. Need more info..

the GMG car is basically a grand am spec porsche 996gt3R from what i gather...

time attack has interesting rules.... we are aiming to do something with neither an sti or evo... the cost to "do it right" is just to high with these cars... AMS has an entirely new car they havent unveiled yet, i think they are building it more like a touring chassis... moving the driver back etc...

so they should be significantly faster with the new car.

Chad, you should come down to Summit this fall and run the Exige in modified RWD! We take an Evo for the street AWD and I'm taking the tC for street FWD this year...should be fun.

I didn't think there was a RedLine TA anywhere except Summit (for east coast events) last year? There is an event scheduled for Atlanta too, but that's too far for us.

Thanks for the clarification. I thought 2 sec to recover on a lap was kinda strange. A cut corner would make that up really quick. But I guess i didn't realize how much some cars sandbag.

Another nice showing for Subarus. Even though they are classed differently,
I would be really interested to see how these cars would stack up against some
of the Japanese tuner cars like Zerosports or Jun.

i agree a little bit.. but that porsche is way down on power.. and the 996 chassis is obsoleet in every racing series...

on a dif trak.. the porsche would be faster...

but soon the ams evo and others will be beating the porsche...

the cyber evo is waay faster then cup cars...
