RS*R finally contacted me back today with a price for the coilovers and they will be approximately 2000$ shipped! I really want coilovers so that I'll be able to raise my car back to stock height during the winter when I hit the mountains, but I don't know if I want to go this route if it's 1600$ more than the lowering springs option. I don't really know too much about coilovers nor springs, but I was told lowering springs could cause lots of stress to the stock struts if they aren't upgraded. Is that true? Also, are there any performance benefits to coilovers over springs? I did a couple Google searches, and I understand there are some but I'd like to hear some input directly from you guys. Thanks!

Eventually, lowering springs will blow out your stock shocks. If you just go springs now, I'd figure that by the time your shocks go, there will be more coilover options available. That's what I'm assuming at least. I have had two cars so far that I've ran springs only. On my Cobalt SS, I ran Sportlines with stock shocks first. Then upgraded to Koni's with Pedders a year later. On my Si, I ran Skunk2 springs. I planned on getting coils around this time, but ended up selling it. lol

TEIN is based SoCal, correct? I already have a magnaflow exhaust that a local shop custom made so I'm looking forward to see one straight from the manufacturer!

I might just do that, I'll contact RS*R today and see what they say in regards to the benefits of their coilovers over their springs and if they can sell me on them. If not, I'm just going to pull the trigger on the springs and play the waiting game for other kits to become available. Thanks for the reply.

Just to let you know I've had 4 cars in the past that only had springs on OEM shocks and lasted 4-5 years and never had to replace them. Maybe it was luck. I don't get coil over because the springs for me is the perfect height and not planning to adjust up and down anyway. I'd say you made the correct choice.

Stick with lowering springs and a good set of dampers. Adjustable coilover kits are usually overkill for most cars driven on the street anyways.

Anyone figure out if the H&R's on eBay are legit? I'll check to see if Tire Rack is listing them yet as well. 400 is alot for just springs.

I messaged the buyer he said they are still under production in H&R and will not be avaliable until mid June

Installed today:

Kartboy SS with bushings
STI 19mm rear sway bar
EZ Lip

LOVED IT!! The car feels transformed. Car feels more planted (even on straight lines). Turn in feels great. Shift is precise, short and notchy. Feels very sporty. Cant go wrong with a $35 lip that looks legit up until you touch it. haha

Side note: Has anyone confirmed that the STI (+11) front sway bar is truly different from ours? And is it also 22mm?

It wouldn't matter, the only thing you will achieve with it is more understeer. If you want to maintain the quality feel of the bigger rear sway and want to improve the handling even further, then a 24mm front, 22-24mm rear is really your only way to go. Even then, I think a 22mm rear is pretty much required if you actually want to avoid understeer.

Oh sorry what I meant was if it can actually be installed in our cars. Same size and fitment. But I hear you man. If it's the same size, it's senseless.

All the subaru documentation I read says the front is completely redesigned, and we have 22mm from the factory.

After the new wrx comes out someone will probably start making front bars

I think whiteline makes a 24mm for the front, and I know they make a 24 for the rear as well. I can imagine with both of those on it probably corners pretty much like a boss.

Cool shark fin

I finally got around to replacing the antenna that looks like someone should be standing by the side of the road driving your car with a remote controller.

Nicely color matched fin, with antenna matrix built in, from Visual garage.
A bit of a frivolous accessory, but I am happy with it.

Let's see if I can get a picture link to work. I had it figured out with webshots, which went away, but Flickr seems to be giving me problems.

well, according to previews, nothing seems to work. It used to be so simple.
I will toss this in just in case...

Yup, the [img..... tags didn't work.
According to my account info, I can't do attachments.

This forum doesn't allow linking to an image on a page, and flickr won't allow directly linking to an image, and only allows linking to a page. AAARRGGGHHH!

Webshots was great until it sold out.

Flickr is crap but I got locked into it due to another forum that pretty much requires it.

Sorry I can't seem to directly place a pic! Didn't realize it would be this complicated!

OK flyboy....how did you do that? :-) ..other than attachments, which doesn't work for me.

for some reason that is not working with Flickr. Flickr has disabled the right click on picture, and the link they give with "share" does not work with IMG.

I have never had this much trouble loading images on any forum.

Upload to imgur, once you finish the upload, it will give you direct links to the image and also embed codes to place it in a forum (it says forum/message board link or something). That's what I use, also totally anonymous.

That is what I did. I right clicked and it let me choose a size, after it reloaded I right clicked again and picked copy url. I pasted that into the address bar to see if it gave me the .jpg and it did
