The urgency to post/submit for press is directly proportional to how much Ive shot.
My old 7Ds were easily in the 100k range. |

Looks like I've taken about 72k so far this year and I did 158k last year. I think I did close to 1/4 million in 2010 when I was doing a lot more sports.

I really like the story this one tells. There is a monster motor being assembled.

Definitely a cool photo. Im curious if the photo would be stronger focused on the tech, though.

All of these pictures were from a few years back, and I didn't really understand proper exposure
with ISO and shutter speeds. Now that I've been reading up on it and getting back into photography I'm hoping when I get back home that my photo's will become something amazing! So here is my baseline "starting" point, lets see what I can do when I'm home. buddies bike, I just wish it was more in focus.... I dunno wtf happened. 46mm f/5.6 1/4 sec ISO-400 Slidin 210mm f/13 1/1600 sec. ISO-800 First attempt at night shooting, was the only picture I found worth trying to edit really... 18mm f/3.5 1/3 sec. ISO-800 If only I would have angled the car more >.< 18mm f/10 1/320 sec. ISO-400 BMW in Norway I saw f/7.1 75mm 1/250 ISO-800 |

I can tell you what happened in your first photo. Look at your shutter speed!! Your ISO shouldve been way higher for that light. The second pic is awesome! I love how the arrow is pointing the other way. I just wish it was in a different spot.

The first one, was my first attempted photo shoot! I didn't know wtf I was doing haha. When I'm home, there will be some HEAVY photo taking with my WRX to learn the proper speeds and iso with conditions.

Your ISO-Shutter Speed-Aperture values are interesting. What mode are you shooting on?

Back then, mostly was shooting in P vs. Manual. Which probably wasn't helping me understand proper setup

Av or Tv is better option, though. |

Where I am, I can't really just go out and take photo's, so gotta wait till I get home. All I can do now is read about it and try to play it out in my head. |

Honestly, instead of trying to jump into Manual, learn how to use Av and Tv, along with exposure compensation, to get the exposures you need.

I always shoot in manual and then use my exposure compensation. Is this the right way to do it, or is there a better way?

There is no "exposure compensation" in Manual. Unless youre talking about using the sliders in the RAW conversion.

Maybe I'm not using the right term, but when I'm in M and turn my dial on the top of the camera it changes the slider on the exposure meter which then changes my shutter speed. Am I makin sense or am I doing somehting completely wrong?

If youre in M on a Rebel, the finger wheel changes the actual shutter speed. If you hold down the AV (I think?) button on the back while scrolling the finger wheel, youre changing the actual aperture. In Manual, the exposure meter and where the needle lands is based on your exposure settings.

Oh ok, I got a little confused. I've read the manual and have a book on my camera. It doesn't mean I retain all the info though. This is a hobby not a career. I need to remember more important things....like my wifes birthday.
