Engine Swap: 04 Outback into 02 Forester (pics)
Found a fine running 04 Outback EJ251AWFWL full car, with a toasted standard tranny. She runs like a sewing machine but a bit more oily/dirty but has some maintenance history inc recent work. It's pictured with blue plug wires.
My rust free Green Forester EJ251AXVAB automatic needs a better engine. My journeyman mechanic bud wants me check that this is kosher with sensors etc. Any tips are appreciated! I hope to buy it Friday/today. They look a bit different under the hood. e.g. the power steering reservoir. I have hi-rez pics too but not sure how to att. these here. Thanks. Via a couple phone calls, some advise/considerations:
keep own intake (all accessories, sensors), exhaust*manifold crossover tube on Forester bottom is*long block EGR check crank sensor on pulley Should work ok... |
