I suppose i should make a build thread for my current vehicle, a MY06 STi. After selling my WRX in August of 2017 (HUGE MISTAKE), i bought quite a few vehicles before landing myself where i belong (and never should have left), in a turbo Subaru! I bought a S550 Mustang GT, sold that after about a month and a half, great car just terribly boring to drive and much slower than my previous car . Then i moved on to a 1988 RX-7 Turbo ii, that car was awesome except for the rotary, it kept flooding (due to a possibly failing ecu) After about a month of owning the Dorito, i traded to a friend for a 1990 Subaru Sambar and some cash. Driving the Sambar was the best 48hrs of my life. Sold it almost immediately and ended up in a 2008 Base C6 Corvette. LS3 and TR6060 was an amazing time! But it just didnt make me tingle in my downstairs like my old WRX did soooooooo after 2 months, you guessed it! I SOLD IT Then the search was on for a STi! After looking at a ton of over priced, modified, hacked up pieces of junk i decided the smartest thing to do was buy a close friends car that was for sale. (Don't worry he regrets his decision almost daily) I figured i knew the car was dealer maintained by the previous owner with a long 150k mile service history, some of it even done by a friend who is a senior master tech. Most mods were on the car when i purchased it from my friend and the best part was.... I knew it was all done right....because i assisted in installing every mod on the thing. and i didnt mind the mileage at all, the car was very clean and i planned on being an idiot and doing a full big turbo go fast build.

I rocked the Rotas until i got these OEM beauties back from powdercoating



and all waxed up for her protection

second time at the strip this time at Cecil County Dragway, i had way too much air in the tire and it was cold, so i didn't do great



another trip to the strip, they kept staging me out of the groove and i would spin all of first gear BOOOOOOO Capitol Raceway

finally reversed after 2 days and tons of work



and how it currently looks until the built setup goes in and i go rotated and such! it is not pretty but it works!

Nice looking build you've got going. Any thoughts/remarks on the DSS carbon shaft? I've been considering it but I wanted to make sure there were no fitment issues before I drop the coin on that thing.

when it came time to set the valve lash the assembler was getting some odd readings, possibly because the GSC valves are a hair longer than OEM not really sure. so more buckets had to be ordered ughhhhh



and here it is fully assembled and ready to go in.....when my clutch arrives

well i was only gonna do the 07+ 3/4 gear but after very little persuasion and peer pressure i decided to add Spec B 5/6 too!



now ill have longer third gear through



then came assembly time!!

I kinda want to buy your old block just for the heads, because I plan on doing a closed deck in my RSTi at some point and could use them to build a motor on the side.
