![]() Like the title, where is the best (most reasonable) place to buy a brake pad spreader/remover online.
I'm running a Wilwood big brake kit with Cobalt GT Sport pads and would like a tool that would make it faster/simpler to change them out. I've seen the pad spreader around but not sure where to purchase. Thanks guys!

![]() Well, you can use a screwdriver between the pad and the rotor. I have a pair of vise grips with flat ends on the jaws (for holding welding materials). I use that on my calipers.

![]() A large C-clamp will do the job well for little money.

![]() Most pad spreaders are designed for sliding calipers and won't work well on your Wilwood setup. I have the BSL6 front caliper. When I change pads I just open the bleeder and push the piston back in with my finger. I'm running a track car though, so I'll just leave the bleeder open for a little bit and let it gravity bleed any air bubbles that might have accumulated.

![]() wiggle one pad out. Turn 90* with friction surface against rotor. Use as a lever to push pistons back.
Insert new pad. NOW remove the second pad, turn 90* and use as a lever. insert new pad. |

![]() My friend has the rubber padded quick grips. They work quite nicely and don't marr up nice mono-block calipers.
