![]() there are tons of threads about intakes and blow off valves. try a search...factory forced induction is the best place to learn about BOV. I have the stock intake and bov on my car so I can't help you.
I've read reports of a loud whistle at high speeds, allegedly from the rear view mirror. I haven't noticed it on my car - I'm guessing it's because I have roof racks which make a bunch of wind noise when speeding on the freeway. |

![]() Yeah, the noise is probably from the mirrors. Get some black foam window sealer and stick it between the hinged part of the mirror and teh mirror itself.
![]() As far as in intake, most of them require you to either remove the bumper or the fenderwell. It may vary from brand to brand though. ![]() For BOV's, it's kind of a toss up. Most aftermarket are external venting, but they generally have a stronger spring. So they hold boost better, but you may run lean. The stock unit is a recirclating type, and it pipes the air back into the intake after the MAF sensor. I beleave the consensus is that unless you're doing some major power mods or upping the boost, it's almost a waste. Well, if it weren't for the cool psssssshhhh noise you get. ![]() ![]() -John |
