I remember that set you had on your hatch. Looked great. Yeah the 57dr's have been a wheel on my radar for quite a while. I like how it looks on both the GR's and VA's and most likely the wheel I will go with.

Yikes. My spec's for the 57dr's seem to be pretty hard to come by these days. Looks like there aren't many places that have them available. 8-10 weeks until they are back in stock most places.

Thoughts on the Rays 57CR's? Have a set ready to go. Gloss looks great, but at a detailing standpoint gloss black is a PITA. Not to mention on wheels as they can scratch pretty easily and I think I would go insane trying to keep these swirl free. Although, they certainly look good.

The 57dr's are nearly impossible to come by. No one has them in stock and won't have them for 2-3 months. I think it may be a lost cause at this point and may have to pick something else up.

Really loving your meticulousness and the formatting you use through out the thread. Those Rays 57CRs look excellent. The gloss black would clean up easier than anything matte.

Thank you! I try to follow a pretty simple format to keep things organized. I've been doing this process with all my cars journals. It's fun to look back on everything over the years. Not to mention, it really helps when I go to sell the car. Potential buyers can see every single detail and thought process throughout my ownership.

Yeah, I think the CR's do look great. I saw them on a red STI at the NY auto show this year and it looked really, really good. Waiting on the company to get back to me and then making the purchase most likely. I will be sure to keep everyone posted on the final decision!

I am only looking for black, so the gun blue wouldn't work for me anyway.

Just another voice in a sea of forum opinion, but I've had three sets of Rotas over the years (and just ordered my fourth) without issue. Did I see those same "horror stories"? - yes. But after reasonable due diligence, I came to the conclusion that they were beyond suitable, in both style and safety, for most peoples needs. Sure, most of the designs are copies, but you can't beat the value. I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss them as an option.

Oh I hear you. I am not necessarily against them. I've seen real deal volk te37's bend in half before, so it can happen to any brand. There is no question about Rota having some great value and options. It's just my OCD self knowing that I would have a higher chance of something like that happening to me and the fact my family is in the car with me wouldn't sit right. I would hate to feel like I am putting them in a higher risk of danger just so I can make my car look a certain way. It's simply my opinion and would rather fork over a bit more money for something with a bit more rep. I live in NJ and in certain areas, the roads are pretty darn horrible.

I am indeed leaning that way. Just the thought of getting a lot more done to the car for similar pricing turned my gears a bit.

I know that feeling, i still think 57dr or tc105n, those were my first 2 choices as well when i was picking wheels for mine

I vote tc105n. I think those might be the "real" version of my titans? Either way, I'm not a fan of the 57dr for the 15+. The sharper lines of the wed's flow with the car better IMO.

Both great looking wheels. Have had the tc105n's and gramlight 57xtremes on my wrx and loved both brands.

I just liked the simplistic look of the 57dr's. Gave it a really aggressive/track look. Maybe i'll scoop them up down the road when they are more readily available. Maybe a winter set if I decide to go down that road someday.
