![]() Hey guys, I have been searching and searching for postings that can possibly tell me what's going on with this transmission and I have found nothing. I swapped an 04 STI 6spd with R180 and front axles into my 03 bugeye. I used the STI flywheel and bought a Competition Clutch OEM replacement for the STI. I finished the swap late last night, started her up, and when I let out the clutch the car barely moves forward at all, and if I really rev it up it starts to make a slight grinding noise like when you have a bad synchro. I didn't wire up the dccd because this was a swap that came out of an 02 wagon without a dccd, the previous owner claimed that he had driven this setup without a controller for years, so my question is, am I completely screwed with this 6spd? Or will getting an aftermarket dccd setup fix this issue? Thanks!!

![]() Sounds bad though, being able to roll the car in gear. DCCD won't fix the problem, trans will work as an open diff but won't allow the car to roll like that.
Check if the rear axles haven't popped out on the diff side? |

![]() I did a 6mt swap on my 06 wrx and have been running without a DCCD controller for 2 years now. Without a DCCD controller, the center just runs open (~40/60 split). With it in gear, you shouldn't be able to move the car like any manual transmission. If the rest of your driveline/axles are properly installed and working, id start checking the to make sure the clutch is engaging properly and then (hopefully not) see the 6mt is good. Is the grinding noise like gear grinding? Can you drive in any of the other gears or reverse?
