Default full rhd conversion instructions

so i picked up a stock 03 wry that was smaked in the front. so i ordered a jdm front clip with rhd conversion. im going to go through the whole conversion fro removing the dash swapping out firewalls and making the oem harness to the rhd dash. so this a guide to someone that wants to know how to do it from start to finish. here is the donor car

all i know is that if you're gonna do the swap, ive had two buddies do it. one used the jdm harness and ran 11 check engine lights and almost nothing electrical worked. the other cut and extended the harness a foot or so where needed and was able to make it work no issues.

yeah im extending the wires and making the stock harness work. i finally figured out hot to work that dumb image. but i started to pull the engine and transmission once i do that. i have to put a 1/4 panel on my buddies car than I'm going to town on this. the front end and rid conversion shouldnt take more than 2 months with everything done except the new engine (its being built now slowly but it is)

so i got soe done on the conversion so far, i removed all the u,s dash heater, and cute the u.s main harness in 6 spots and flipped it over.and now the fuse box is on the right side and the ecu is on the left side and everything in the middle lines u, radio, airbag module, heater control, ect, tomorrow im punching the hole in the firewall and finish the wiring harness. im making 6 extesion harnesses and using pin water proff connector instead of soilding but this is how far i am so far

how did you do your wiring? did you use the u.sone and flip it and cut it or did you use the euro one? and if you used the euro one did ou use the whole harness or just body harness

another thing is i do not have the euro dash harness. so im using the lhd heater controls on the rhd box. i have to have to make the cables but i have them working. ( cables are to short) the rhd is electrical and the lhd is mechanical and the boxes are diffrent in a little way but you can get the lhd controls to work on the rhd. ill tale some more picks and ill take better picks of where i cut the harness to stretch.

so i got a little more done this weekend. i got all the mechanical done. i got the pedals in and hooked up. abs block, clutch ect. the steering column and the foam on top of the firewall are also in and i also got the heater/ac in. i also started on the wiring and these are the clips im using. so pretty much be a plug and play. the only thing left is electrical. so no more than 2 weeks ill have this done

I used the US harness and flipped it, I couldn't find a jdm harness at the time.

I took off the auto control boxes and put on the manual levers, I believe I switched the cables in order to have them the proper length. I used the US heater controls, so they are reversed but still function fine.

Do you have the hole cut out for the fresh air intake for the heater? What did you do to the stock heater hole location?

Wiring is the best part.

im making a little plate for the heater hole and im going to run my amp wire through that hole. and im using my old brake booster hole for my engine bay wires and what hole? i made the hole from mu other car but didnt see a fresh air

I said heater but I meant blower motor.

The hole for fresh air through the blower motor is what I meant. It is something I almost forgot about, just thought I would mention it.

so i ordered my parts for my engine tonight.

je ej257, 8.5 comp pistons
manley turbo tuff i beam rods
stock nitrated crank
gates blue belt timing belt set
11mm oil pump
sti oil pan kit
acl race bearings

im sending the stock 2.0 heads to be milled out to a ej257 head

so some updates o my subi. i got all the body work done and all the mechanical on the rid I'm finishing up my wiring and im done. i got my short block assembled i ordered some avcs 207 big port heads and they are at the machine shop to port them to 257, valve job, surfacing, valve lash so pretty much a full rebuild and cnc work. here are all the good parts i have so far

703 case
manley i beam rods
je pistons
stock nitrated crank
11mm oil pump
gates timming set
spec c intake with no tgv. there tgv less
equal thength headers
3" turbo back
garrett gt3582 with aps housings (stock location)
ej207 big port heads avcs
avcs wiring kit

next is the fuel

1600 or 2000 cc injectors
what fuel pump?
e85 all year.
aftermarket fuel rails
aeromotive fuel regulator
parallel fuel lines

Reviving from the dead for a technical question. I'm having a problem getting the rhd gas pedal mounted. I believe I forgot to get a bracket off the clip before it went away. Do you by any chance have a pic of the brackets that the gas pedal mount to? I think I may have to fab something.

Hey sorry to revive an old thread. Just finished up my RHD swap on a pieced together 2005 STi shell. Only thing I'm having issues with is the blower motor box/cover doesn't want to sit properly because of the wires coming in from the fender-well. What did you do to get the box to mount properly?
