![]() Subaru interiors still haven't caught up to the E46, let's not kid ourselves. As for M2 CS, yeah it's a few years old and showing it's age. Still decades ahead of anything Subaru offers.

![]() I was using it as a general example. Subaru interior is based on a $18k or whatever Imprezas start at now car.

![]() I honestly don't see the point in comparing luxury brands, especially European ones, with an econo Japanese brand. Mazda is the only one trying to aim that high and it's a struggle for them.
I'd love for Subaru to succeed in making a luxury brand where they could shoot for the stars with whatever tech features and performance they wanted. Power folding mirrors and headlight washer fluid for everyone! |

Subaru does pretty good when it comes to their packaging. Try adding heated seats to a base model luxury vehicle and you'll see that the price will jump several thousand dollars, and it'll still be without AWD. There are obviously plenty of other companies to consider if you want more of any one particular thing, but it's tough to beat Subaru for overall value. |

![]() I think the Legacy/Outback and new Levorg interior is a major step up for Subaru compared to their off-black textured plastic interiors. They just need to update the UI for the infotainment, it's very old looking.

![]() I'm not asking for it to compete with German luxury brands, I just want it to be competitive in its own class. Subaru isn't even doing that compared to say Kia/Hyundai. I truly wonder WHERE their money is going, it's certainly not drivetrains or interiors - maybe it's just a Yakuza front or something. |

I don't remember either of these. Only online speculations. Just recently were the dates pushed back a little because of the crap year we had. |

![]() ![]() I wish they had gone with a wide display with rather than a tall display and those vertical vents. The rest is nice. Not sure we will see those deeply bolstered seats tho. |

![]() I much prefer a tall display rather than wide. Both in computing (for reading a full page - there's always so much extra side space on 16:9 monitors for most things) and in a car.
Mainly because the one thing I do in the car with the central display more than just to change some setting is look at the map, and displaying a map of LOTS of what's ahead / behind and only some off to the side is preferable to me. I don't care what's 7 streets over to the left or right - I want to see 7 streets AHEAD of me. Instead, I get super wide view, but barely 2-3 intersections ahead, etc.. |

![]() Like everyone else, Subaru is putting navi maps in the digital dash. The idea is taking eyes off the road to fiddle with the giant screen in the middle leads to crashes. But they ALSO went with the largest toddler sized learning computer in the dash, breaking up a good design and negating the point of putting it in the digital dash. ![]() |

And personally, I always leave my maps stationary, up being north, never following my path. My mind works in maps and I have no issues with the fact that my direction of travel isn't up. When I lived in Boston I did more E-W travel and horizontal made more sense. Seattle it's more N-S travel so vertical makes more sense... |

For the sake of them being respectable, I hope they do get an interior like Levorg. But I don't want to pay STI dollars for my WRX, or BMW dollars for my STI. |

![]() On a car like the STI, do you really need a gigantic screen? Plenty of distractions and distracted drivers out there already.

I see the gigantic screens as a bit of "less" distraction as I can see things better than a "smaller" screen. I'm not having to focus on something smaller. Even with the large screen they are now, just about everything in a Subaru is a steering wheel control or voice command. Soooooooo, LESS distraction as such that if you know your buttons and commands, your hands never come off the wheel and eyes are never off the road....... ![]() |

![]() I'm not a fan of the vertical vents either. They lend to a more claustrophobic look and feel.

It's also possible the WRX/STI will be offered in more distinct interior trim levels than the current generation. You may be able to get that Levorg interior if you pay extra for the highest trim level. |
