oil pan removal

Well it is just like the title says. I need to know how to remove the oil pan on a 88 gl-10. The manifold is in the way on the front and the engine brace is in the way on the back. So how do I wedge the thing out of there. The only things I could think of were to lift the engine up some (which I have no way of doing). Or taking of the mani which I have tried before and deamed to difficult and found another route.

So is there anyone out there that can help me out?

Ok I talked to my dad about how I got mani gaskets on before. I remember now that I did drop the mani a couple inches but now it doesn't want to move at all. (looks for biggest hammer evAr!)

How did you do it?? On my 87 turbowagon we had to raise the engine with the hoist afew inches. I think we managed to leave all the exhaust on there.

Sorry I wasnt able to reply sooner my computer is on the verge of requiring a reformatting. (crashes alot, makes it hard to check the board)

Well when my dad got home I talked to him about how we did the mani gaskets before. So we unbolted it from the engine and unbolted the uppipe from the turbo. I was then able to pull it down enough for my dad (I still have know idea how he did it and neither does he) spun the pan around so the the oil pump screen would slide out. After that it wasn't to bad but man you should have seen the crap that came out of that thing. After cleaning the pan the rest was a walk in the park I was just alittle messy afterward.
