If anyone is curious, the noise got louder and louder as I drove home. I took it to the dealer today, and right before I got to the dealer it stalled and wouldn't start again. Service manager looked at it, tried to start it, heard it, and said I'll be getting a new long block in a few days, and possibly a new turbo.

What's your build date?

Isnt there a documented issue with certain 09's up to a date?

08/08 build. So far it seems 10/08 and past are okay, but the ones before that seem to fail.

Sorry to hear about that... atleast they are giving you new motor without much fuss. Good luck with the new motor and hope you get your car back soon.

I am the new guy with AW STI at the meet.
