Has anyone noticed the noise that ocurs when the a/c is turned on? Every 30-40 seconds the A/C makes a loud hissing/knock noise? Is this normal for most Impreza owners?

I've looked through this entire thread and only saw the Sage Green/Ice Silver on the very first page and the Sky Blue/Ice Silver somewhere at the beginning of the thread. Hope you get your ride soon. This is all I have, just one more...

I think someone posted somewhere in this forum why its doing that. My car does the same thing. It makes like a clicking sound. At first I thought it was coming from my music.

It should be the A/C Compressor. it Happens. Just check though. Look at your engine, and look at the Belts, there will be a fly wheel type device that compresses air, and will go on every few seconds.

That's the sky-blue or your sage-green?
It looks like the blue to me, but I have noticed pics of the two can sometimes look similar, so I thought I'd ask. Anyways, it is beeautiful! How come more people don't dig on that unique two-tone? Is it because folks are sick of the old-school outbacks having been two tone for so long? Maybe that's an interesting subject for a thread: "Two-Tone: Like or Dislike, and Why/Why Not?" To me it's signature Subaru, but even the new outbacks are 99% solid colours the past couple years. My father in law out and out said he thought the two-tone sucked, but he drives a silver 2012 Impreza Sport (yaaawwwnnn could pass for a Fit or his old Taurus in the wrong light), so his aesthetics are a bit challenged, if you ask me). Can't wait to park mine next to his and watch all the folks go, "Damn, that blue is sweeeet!"

I have seen only a half dozen 2012 Imprezas in my neighborhood which should have one of the country's highest number of Subarus on the road, if not the most Subarus in ABSOLUTE numbers, not percentage-wise (Hawthorne area in Portland is literally swarming with school teachers in Subarus, so it should be a cliché, like Vermont Librarians in Subies or Toyotas in the parking lot of a Chinese Dim Sum joint), and only a couple were Sports, and only ONE sky-blue two-tone, which I saw after I had ordered mine, and it literally stopped me cold cuz it looked sooo good. It and the Sage Green must be the rarest of the rare for the Imprezas this year. It's nice not to drive what everyone else is driving, like a silver Fit or a Red Focus (ick...that colour is awful on the Fords this year...too candied and cheap looking. My opinion)

Subie's are made for the dirt, for sure! Too bad we don't get the options on the Albanian model, though.

italia490 has some videos in his photobucket album of the way it makes it sound.

I ordered this and this and I am having a friend weld it together for me when the parts arrive. I am picking up a gasket sometime this week too.

If I don't like it, I can always just bolt the muffler back on.

One exhaust shop said that Subaru might try to void my warranty if I did this, but I don't see how they could with Magnusson/Moss warranty act around. Wouldn't they have to prove that taking off the muffler was the cause for damage? (which is highly unlikely since a muffler just muffles the sound)
If that's the case, I'll just bolt the muffler on when I take it in for oil changes.
Just ordered the flange and steel pipe. Did you end up buying the gasket? If so where did you get it from?

Hi, How involved was that? Did you take the grill off the car to paint?

Bought the flange gasket from O'Reilly's local auto parts store. I brought the flange with so we could match the gasket up to make sure it was the right size.

What degree bend pipe did you get? I originally did the 45 degree bend, but it started melting the bumper! So, I just got the 90 degree bend in today, but really anything over 60 degrees should be enough.

Are you referring to plastidipping the grill? I left everything on, just masked around the grill and peeled off the overspray. Pretty easy actually. It takes a little getting used to how the Plastidip lays down, but it's easy enough to just peel off and try again if you mess up.

Is that the lighting, or is there a tint on the windows already?

My sky-blue sport on order has the white interior, and everyone is freaking out: Oh, it'll get too dirty. That's what leather cleaner is for, plus the interior gets two-tones with the ivory seats and trim and the black upper plastics, which really jazzes up the interior. i hope I don't eat crow on that one, sticking to the ivory leather, but it's so sexy!

Hey, MyWhiteImpreza, give us some interior pics to show what I mean...
