Default how to figure out what build number your sti is...

Ive been wondering if anyone knows how to figure out what build number your specific car/sti is? any website info? ive looked on the internet and havent been sucessful. I have a sti that was built 8/3/03, i believe, and was wondering what, in number terms, production number it was. It has got to be one of the first ones built. it was sold on 8/12/03....any info into this would be awesome.....thanks a bunch

8/3/03 won't be one of the first ones. Maybe one of the first 2-3000, but that's about it. We had them in MI in April of 2003.

You can go by the chassis number, which is the last 6 numbers in your VIN, although I never paid attention to what number they started with......Time for a search on Subaru website.

EDIT: I just checked....Impreza's and Sti's begin with 500001 and after and continue thru the current year. It doesn't break it down as to what the 04's, 05, 06's started with, just that the Impreza and Sti line starts at that number.

So if your chassis number is 500100 you know that yours was the 99th one ever made.

mine is 511944...if that is correct...it would be the 11943 inprezza built in 04....but that doesnt narrow it down to just the sti's....

Ture, having a "numbered" car in this case does not apply because there is no separation between WRX's and STi's or even model year. You just know how many "chassis" they made before yours

as far as i know, there is no numer sequence for the wrx or sti. they just take a bunch of wrx frames off the line and make those sti's
