No it was a Honda dealership up in mechanicsville off 360 or something I think over by the NASCAR race track.

http://www.ezsubaruparts.com I just found this site, it appears to be a little cheaper than the dealer for OEM parts.

Not bad at all. Very competitive and a little cheaper than Pence's Nasioc Members price on parts.

Hey guys, I ordered a 2012 Sti Hatch a couple weeks ago. I plan on getting out to the cars and coffee on the 24th and just wanted to introduce myself. I still have my '04 R32 and will be driving that until my car comes in. I look forward to meeting everyone. I'm down in Chester and know a few of the Sti's and WRX's around.

Hey Phil, you know Don Wood at Pence? I just setup an appointment online for the fuel line and lower control arms recall. His name came up as the service advisor. I'm thinking I probably should have waited until the morning to just call and setup the appointment on the phone, but hopefully if there are issues they will call. Any thoughts? If i don't hear anything back from em, ill be out there at 2:30 tomorrow.

Yes, he was the guy that replaced me when I left( no relation to me as we have the same last name). I am never a fan of online appointments because sometimes they never get through. I would call him to double check. Also if you can request Steve or Will to work on your car.

Word em up! Thanks brotherman, will do!!!

that's funny you pointed out the name b/c I was wondering but figured it just a coincidence. But yeah, just talked to Don and he sounded like a nice kat. He said he had my appointment down and that to have Steve or Will check it out wouldn't be a problem. So far, so good

Don wood always treated me right. But as everyone knows I have personal issues with someone else. I have roughly 4 months left in this area. I got my orders yesterday with a hard leave date. I also submitted the paperwork to leave 60 days earlier, so we will have to all get together the last weekend I have my car. I can't believe I'm putting it on jack stands in storage for 3 years. I'm going to come back to a paid off car with less than 10k miles

Well I definitely should have dropped it off first thing this morning. They didn't want to do the fuel line recall b/c it wasn't an open recall on my car. Gary did however check with Don who said that chances are it needs to be done and they could do it, but i would have to leave it over night (almost 3hr job). Anyway, they called over Will to do the LCA recall. Probably will be out of here soon b/c i looked at them this morning and they looked pretty solid, a little surface rust on the top, but nothing like the nasty pix ive seen online. I reckon i'll get that fuel line recall done down in NC sometime

I have read that if the dealership refuses to do the recall, to request a n official letter saying so. Then send it to Subaru hq and you will get covered.

Not sure exactly what went down and remember the conversation you had with me on here, but you are like one of like 2 or 3 customers that the Service Manager has refused to service. It really takes a lot to upset him. Trust me I know..lol.

Tyler,
The fuel line issue is not a recall in this state but the warranty was extended to 12 years. It is only a recall in these states Alaska, Colorado, Iowa, Idaho, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New York, South Dakota, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. All you have to do is tell them you have the raw fuel smell and they can order the parts and the repairs will be covered by warranty. They do not even have to duplicate the concern. It states it in the notice. Don may not be aware of this being he is fairly new to the Subaru community and well, he is not me SOA told me back in 2009 that I was one of the very few that knew these recalls and they never had any issues with me. I would order the parts over the phone for customers and then when they arrived, called and scheduled the repairs. I always encourage customers to drop the car off because it can take a few hours.

I know Will and Steve have done these repairs numerous times long before they became a warranty/recall. Don is a good guy and will get you straight. Just ask him to double check the bulletin as I did save all of those before I left in 2010.

good look guys. Originally Gary told me that they could check it but if the explained problem wasn't there then they would charge me the diagnostic fee. I assured him that I knew that was it and I had read a myriad of testimonies of the same thing my car had been doing but before they took it in he said they could, but id have to pay the fee if it wasn't bad. When i got settled into the lounge he came back and said that Don told him that they could do the work afterall but I'd have to leave it over night. I couldn't do that today, so I'm either going to take it back early thursday or friday, or just do it down in NC. I made friends with a subbie tech down in Cary, NC.

Oh and they were crazy fast, i was in and out in no time at all. Afterwards i got under the car to check some bushings im going to replace soon and noticed that they did a really clean job putting it on too. I had seen some pictures of some sloppy applications.

I did wanna run a question by you guys to see what yall think.

I'm debating on whether or not I need an alignment and wheel balance. I just picked up a set of wheels & tires from a guy in NC who said they shake at 60mph. After throwing them on today i noticed that they do shake after 65 but I can't tell if it's much worse than with my old tires. So Im curious if slight vibrations in the steering wheel are acceptable on a car with 90k miles and stock suspension. The car tracks straight, and until 65mph, it's super smooth. The tires I just pulled off not only had the inner's totally worn after 20k miles, but they also had a couple bulges in the tread. The last time i aligned the car was 20k miles ago when i installed the past tires. I rotated the directional tires front to back almost every 3k.

So I'm thinking im going to go through and replace a ton of bushings to tighten things back up, but im curious if it sounds like the car needs an alignment or the tires need to be re-balanced. I do want to swap out my springs/shocks soon so I'd rather do an alignment then, but Mark said that his place is unlimited alignments for 3yrs, no matter how i switch up the suspension, which is crazy to me, but sounds sweet. Anyway fellas, any thoughts?

Gary is the KIA service advisor, so he was unaware about the issue being it does not have to be diagnosed/duplicated.

Sound like a wheel balance issue to me. Also it is recommended to re-align your vehicle every 15k miles.
