Default Best road ever (least i think so)

Go out to San Marcos, take aquarena springs to post road, and then take a left after you go under the rail bridge. After you pass the park, there's a mile or two of open winding road through farm land. It's a gorgeous drive. I didn't finish cause I didn't want to get lost, but it goes on for a few more miles at least. I think the road is called old stagecoach road.

You've never been to Lime Creek Rd.? I've been itching to go lately - maybe we can hook up and drive up together.

I will be in the vicinity all day Sunday (er today). PM me with a # if you want to join me.

edit: P.S. with the current campaign to Incorporate Volente in Volente Village, the days of "safe & unpatrolled" driving on Lime Creek could be numbered.

If a cop were to patrol lime creek, there is no chance in hell he'd catch up if he was going the other way unless it was a bike.

Heh. no need for him to catch up. That is why they get issued radios. Besides, the road is partially in Cedar Park city limits and with the police station only being 1/2 a mile away, I am sure there would be someone waiting at the other end. Of course you could still try to run and hide... but where? There are only two ways out and the neighborhood is still very sparse. What I feel would be worst then the one single local cop patrolling the area will be the development that will follow the incorporation. The road will become as populated as Lakeview/Comanche (Oasis) Trail currently is.

Yes. The community you pass along the way is called Volente. BTW, I will be out in the area about 10AM to drop off my girlfriend at the Austin Lake Spa. With her spending the whole day there, I am planning on tooling around the area in my car.

I took a couple of runs Sunday midday and followed a motorbike. I was sliding all over the road on my RE92s trying to keep up. I am sure if he wanted to, he could have lost me easily. When you come back with better tires, I suggest still taking it easy and pick it up as get to know the road better. Take a look at what happened in LinuxRacr's Fredericksburg weekend when he and another Mazda went out there yesterday evening.

I looked for "old stagecoach" on the San Marcos map, could not find it. I drove down Post Rd, but did not see a rail bridge. The Only rail bridge I know of in SM is on Uland (sp) over by the Wal-Mart. (which IMO is the quickest way to get back to Auqarena from Wal-Mart)

You are going to have to show me. I not be so 'mart.

You need to see CR 213 anyway.

Thanks for the advice but dont worry I rarely try to over due things. I wouldnt try to go anywhere near full out on that road unless I knew every turn perfectly. I ran it 4 times yesterday and only heard noise out of my re92s twice the whole day and never slid at all, so I wasnt exactly hot doggin it.

My only complain from yesterday was i got stuck behind a motorbike going 35mph the whole way, me and an s2000 had to sit behind him for 10 mins before he got off.

not sure how you missed the bridge, but when you go down post road it gets curvey in this one part and you cross the river at the same time going under a railroad bridge, the road is on your left. You know you've hit it when you see a park on your left

Could it be Lime Kiln Rd (sp)? On mapquest, it Ts with Post Rd and wanders off to the west for a few miles.
