Default Blower motor not working on setting 4 (1993 Impreza)

I have a 1993 impreza and when the fan speed switch is set to 4 the blower doesn't work. It works great on setting 1-3.

Anyone else had this problem?

Any help is appreciated,
thanks

Probably a bad switch. Typically the problem happens the other way around, the lower speeds don't work but the high speed does, this is usually caused by a bad blower resistor. In your case the resistor appears to be ok.
A bit of testing with a meter should confirm whether the switch is the cause.

My problem ended up being a break in the wire for the 4th fan speed.

Any idea on how to remove the switch to test it? Mine just quit and doesn't work at all on any setting but it used to work if the switch was set in the right position. A little left or right of each setting and it wouldn't work. Also it didn't sound great. Ideas?

Default Mine was overheated switch

97 impreza wagon. High speed heater fan does not work, or works intermittently. I found the problem to be an overheated switch. The contact for the high speed had overheated, and melted the plastic around the contact, causing open circuit on setting 4. I did some sanding on the contacts and surrounding plastic to increase ease of movement of the switch. Now it works most of the time. I also lubricated it with dielectric grease before putting it back together.

Bumping this as I'm having a similar issue on my 1998 L wagon. Last year I only had heat when the blower was on high. I just tried it this am (car's been sitting for awhile) and it's completely dead now.

Can someone provide me a little guidance on where to look? I've done a ton of work on the car itself, but little if anything under the dash and in the electrical system.

From reading above it sounds like this is either a fuse or a switch. Assuming it isn't a fuse, where is the switch I'd need to test? Under the dash?

Thanks in advance...
