Default Skyline (350z) vs EVO IX vs 07 STi vs EVO X SST vs EVO X manual

At Tsukuba

Hope this isn't a repeat, apologies if it is. Correct me if I have the models wrong.

sequential trannies are cool but it was slower than all the manuals...that video makes me want to see the 07 sti vs the 06 evo ix starting in the 1 & 2 slots on the grid and see how far away the can get from the evo x!

and a big LOL goes to the skyline

The JDM skyline isn't a 350z ... it's what we like to call the Infiniti G35 or 37 now.

And yea this is a repost, it was in News & Rumors.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one noticing that. Just think how much faster the STI would have been around the track if it was ever remotely close to the apex.

Interesting video. We have to remember that these are street cars, so finishing result in this race is not everything. Any of the cars can be made faster easily. I understand the lines the STI driver chose, but it was obvious to me that he was struggling with the car more than any of the other cars. The EVO IX MR is a track beast and this just puts the stamp on that. However, I'm impressed with the EVO X the most since it is supposed to be a much softer car. They are a level above in terms of ease of control. Mitsubishi seems to have hit the nail square on the head when it comes to setting up the diffs and both X's take noticeably tighter lines than the other cars. Can't go wrong with any of these cars.

what? the sti driver was forced to take those outside lines because there was always someone to his inside...he didn't choose those lines, he HAD to take those lines unless he felt like wrecking a couple cars for no reason.

sorry but according to that video, the evo x is much slower than the sti and evo ix...apparently, those tighter lines you speak of seem to be slowing them down...

if you watched the video, you'd see what i was talking about. although there are other videos on youtube showing that the evo x with sst is faster than the evo x with 5mt in the 1/4 (or whatever it is they run over in japan. 0-400m?)...but the evo x with sst still only ran a 13.6 stock

Yeah subaru, did you notice that the evo x sst ran a slower best lap time than the evo IX, STi and evo X 5 mt? The difference can be in the conditions and different drivers, but the only car the evo x sst beat was the skyline (G37). Congrats to the evo IX taking top honors with the STI close behind in second. I always enjoy seeing these comparo runs at Tsukuba.

His left hand is to busy licking his fingers. (Like that has ever helped him.)

Nice video, didn't Mitsu recall the Evo Xs sporting the SST transmissions? I heard there were problems with the setup.

Can't wait for the BM with the Evo X vs 08 STI (hoping it will be the Feb issue)
