It's Delta's 'torque grind' cam, so don't expect any OMFG-pinned-back-in-your-seat kind of response, however it pulls nicely through the rev range, and doesn't sacrifice any low down torque (that is noticeable anyway). This is a big deal for me as the car is my DD. As you probably know, the cost of the cams themselves is cheap once you return your stock cams to Delta, but yes the installation costs are expensive, it's maybe a 7-hour job for a competent shop to turn it around, including pulling the engine. I don't know what other mods you've got but the biggest single power improvement for me was the EL headers and HFC. And don't forget to budget for a tune if you do any of these mods, to get the most out of the mods and not cause any damage. |

Although the 17x9+42 will poke 6mm more than the 17x8+35. Since the same tire is going to be used, the tire on the 17x9+42 will poke 7mm less than the 17x8+35. This is why you hear the notion, "offset is everything". |

The header is from Lachute Performance (they are local to me), I was lucky to get one lightly used from one of their project cars. |

Excellent detail information. Since I am on stock suspension I would rather run a wheel with less poke. In this case it would be the 17x8 35ET Rota Grid. As you stated, this would make a 235/45/17 tire have a taller sidewall then installed on a 9" wide wheel. I don't mind this because i'm on stock suspension and a meatier tire will look more "normal" than a stretched tire on stock suspension. The wheel gap will look less with a 17x8" wheel. Correct? Thanks again for all your information. Just found 17x8 45Et wheels for sale local to me, they would most likely fit even better with my stock suspension than the Grids... but i've always wanted Grids. Decisions, decisions. |

Here's somewhat of an example that I'm talking about...
The edge of the tire (tread) lines up with the fender (as it should). So this shows that the tire width, offset, and camber are correct. But then the wheel is extremely wide. Although the wheel pokes (a lot), the tire is still, technically, in the fender. I want to find a counter example of a wide tire on a narrow wheel, but I'm having a hard time finding anything. How this relates to you... You're going to be on stock suspension with 17" wheels. Even if you do get different suspension and slam the car. I have hard time believing that you're going to get a 17" wheel to hit the fender. The point of contact is going to be the tire, not the wheel. Because of that, wheel width isn't as important as tire width. |

If you like the 17x8+45 that you found, I'd highly suggest those. If you're stuck on Grids, it may be worthwhile to suggest a Group Buy through Wheeldude to get the size you want. |

Jourdan, thank you very much. Your effort to help me is greatly appreciated.
*Another thing I just thought of... those who run aftermarket wheels, do you get the TPMS sensors switched over from OEM wheels to aftermarket wheels whenthe tires are installed? |

You're welcome.
I have moved my sensors. They've been on 4 sets of wheels now. They require special, single use, stems. You can get them at your local dealership. Each stem is something like $7. Once you have the right stem, you can add or remove the sensor as you like. But you will have to dismount the tire to get to the sensor. Fun Fact: There's a federal law that prohibits disabling TPMS. Making it illegal to mount up wheels that don't have sensors. But I have no idea how that law is supposed to be enforced. |

Nice tip on the tpms Jourdan.
That's a really weird law too btw, I'd definitely fail with my tpms light going off Downhillsuby- just get a 17x8+35 or higher offset and you'll be good With my setup, 17x8+35 w/ 245/45 /17 tires fits like a glove. Despite my car being lowered an inch or so, the wheels will still fit flush if that's the look your going for. Yet again, it is your car so do what will satisfy you. |

So if I was to slap on some aftermarket wheels without TPMS sensors on our Impreza... do we get a dash light/code or no?
