I'll agree to disagree. The "A" in "SUBARU" on the brakes looks iffy to me, and if you zoom in on the shadow to the right of that tire, you'll see darker, perpendicular lines that should not be there.

Okay yes! THIS I can get behind! Unfortunately, people don't want wagons anymore.

Thanks for clarifying and providing pictures. I'm surprised I didn't know about these seeing as how I was all over it with my GC... JDM Legacy STI wagons are more my thing anyways. Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero!!!

That's totally a render. Quite fake looking, actually. The shadows are some of the easiest parts of basic 101 rendering. The paint is the dead giveaway it's a render.

I can't believe people still don't think these pics are from Subaru haha.

But there's no way this will be what goes on sale, the overall tire diameter is larger than an outback for example, and if they have the production version almost ready why would they tease us with something so radical so close to the release date.

The BRZ shown at the '11 TMS was the production version, the timeline on that isn't relavant. The '10 impreza concept - '12 production impreza is a more accurate comparison. We'll see a production "concept" next year and a MY2015 release.
This concept is to the production WRX what the Impreza, BRZ or XV Crosstrek concepts were to their production counterparts. We can expect the production vehicle for sale in about a year.

Just curious, what about the "A" is iffy to you? Being covered by the spoke, it is hard for me to say anything.

The fact that the dark perpendicular line should not be there, doesn't really sway me one way or another as I'm not sure what it is. Could it be something in the floor? Seems if it was a real picture or computer generated that you would take the "flaw" out. Would you really add it in for a computer generated picture?

I just feel that picture looks the most realistic to me and looks like a photo to me. Maybe I am wrong. I don't have super secret NSA spy software to analyze the picture.

I think that is what we have been told all along. MY2015 with release in 2014.

Did you see the Impreza concept? It didn't even have door handles. Doesn't mean it isn't real (edit: unless you just mean the photos arent real)

These aren't photoshops. Nor are they pictures. They are renderings. Considering the time rendering takes, I'd doubt they're fake.

Doesn't look right where it meets the edges of the spoke, like the "A" was erased but not cleanly.

So why wouldn't the handles just be left off on this then? They'd either be left off or they'd be much more real, not just painted on little rectangles.

I think you're seeing a reflection on the spoke, maybe of the "R."

Maybe it's someone's class project... winter quarter did just end.

Lots of other fake renders out there that folks have put a lot of time into, right?

According to Road and Track: "One thing we can tell you is that these aren't renders, even though they look that way. They are actual photos of the show car."

Unless R&T is completely talking out of their butts, they seem pretty certain that these images are the real deal. Obviously the images have gone through post-processing photoshopping and airbrushing, but that doesn't mean that the underlying image isn't the actual concept car.

What does that all mean? I guess we will find out....

I did consider that.

Looks fake to me, but we've got to wait just a bit longer to get any official news anyway, so...

I really like them as well but we're part of the minority I'm afraid. Just because you have to haul your kids around doesn't mean you should have to settle for a minivan

I wasn't disagreeing with you, I was disagreeing with The Duke. A release in 4 months (japan or not) would be a MY'14 car. I should have been more detailed in my prediction. I think we'll see a production "concept" in early '14, about a year from now, and then we can use the BRZ timeline, so a production run starting in late '14. If the design is so close to done that suppliers are already getting tooling worked up, why bother show us this concept?

The rest of the planet doesn't use the retarded 6-months ahead schedule naming convention we use. Everywhere else the year the car is available is the year the car was made. Why 'Merica has to be stupi/ I mean better I don't understand. I imagine it's the same reason we have the "bigger is better' mentality for everything, which is rarely the case anymore.

The car should (again, with the information we deem credible currently) hit US shores in calander spring '14 as a model year (US Spec) '15. You can bet Japan will get the car before then. When we see the "production concept" as we're now callnig it will most likely be at the Toyko auto show, and I wouldn't be surprised if orders were available for Japan then. They pulled that with the legacy DIT. The car was a surprise and orders were open the next day for delivery in like 2 months.

Sorry, I WAS being serious. I never noticed in all my hours of drooling at that concept that it had a carbon fiber roof. OR, more likely, I care so little for carbon fiber that I just forgot it was there. My least favorite parts are the carbon fiber bits, except for the wheel spoke designs in either the Legacy Concept or Impreza Concept. Those were nice. Body kit parts, though? Not so much.
