if the switches are anything like in the older imprezas, they are all the same switch. Just buy a bunch of driver's switches, put them in where you want them.

On the 2011 there is a pcb so buying a just button won't work but what I found out is that on the pcb says Nissan. I've checked the maxima and altima online and they come all front auto so I'm guessing maybe we can use those parts. If any one has newer maxima or altima and pop the buttons and check to see if we can just swap the pcb board that would be awesome.

Nope. The motor is controlled by the pcb board on the door.

I've heard the switches from the new forester have both passenger and driver auto up and down feature and are interchangable.

If that is the case then we need to figure out the part numbers and pricing.

another good thing about the forester's switches is they all light up so no more guessing at night where the switches are.

It's called convenience. Do you need keyless entry? No, but you do enjoy opening the doors without trying to shove a key into a whole. Plus having my last 2 cars having all front auto windows you get used to it. It's the little things in life that make you happy.
Before this gets out of hand let's try to keep this on topic.

You wouldn't have a foster in your family by any chance? If you do I dare you pop the buttons and take a pic of the module.

Hmm, I've looked on Subaru.com and all the subys come with just "Driver's auto up/down power window". Quoted from the "compare models" link from the forester and legacy. I checked the tribeca but it did not say anything about auto windows so I checked the pics for the interior and its the same like the rest of them with only driver's window being auto. It does not seem like there are any subys that have driver and passenger auto window.

This is funny as I am wanting to stop the driver's side window from automatically going up and down. I would rather have it manual.

Maybe someone wants to swap a switch with me? lol

You don't need to switch. All you have to do disconnect your battery to turn off the feature. At least that's what I read on the legacy forums. I'm guessing it's the same thing on the impreza. Give it a try.

Update on the auto front window. I found a pic of the 2010 Nissan Maxima and front windows are auto.

Ummm, ok then my window would have stopped doing that months ago when I disconnected the battery.

I can't imagine that working.

Yep.
This is somewhat common on the older models.

You need two of the DEI 530T window modules. See here (scroll down a bit):

If you push the button down halfway it operates manually. I thought this was common knowledge. Lol.

After you disconnect the battery the switch loses its "memory". Once you fully roll down the window, and then roll it back up it "re-learns" and goes back to normal.

Again, see this thread:

Yay, that saved me from buying a Nissan Maxima switch for nothing. Thanks a lot. I might feel adventurous and actually get the Nissan switch and try to wire the passanger side motor so it's "Smart".

I think even that is not going to work. The motor would need some extra output, the square wave "travel" signal, so you'd need a window regulator that provides that. Then you have to wire that all the way back to the driver's switch.

Totally worth it to wire in the aftermarket modules, I use the auto up/down all the time. I even have the DEIs wired to the battery, so I can "request" all the windows to roll up, turn off the car and exit, don't have to wait for them to finish closing.

I know there are those "blah blah lazy blah blah" proponents out there, but for me this saves so much time rolling the windows up and down, I never could contort my hand in just the right way to pull on all 4 switches at the same time.

BTW the Forester and STI have fully lighted window switches in the driver's door, and the passenger's door. For 08-10 it is a direct swap in the driver's door and a little work in the other doors. http://www.3gwrx.com/forum/index.php?topic=18158.0. '11 should be the same provided you use a driver's switch from an '11 STI or Forester with the auto up/down

Come on what? This is solved at this point. Buy DEI 530t and instal.
Like I said if I feel adventurous this weekend I will pop both doors and compare the wiring and motors. Let's hope they don't match the 2010 part numbers. If they are different then we might get away with just swapping switches which I doubt at this point.
