I tinted the tail lights myself with nightshades and I left the backup/turn signals untinted.

Its easy and cheap, but i think up close its not perfect. theres some thicker spots, some small holes which could be because i didnt sand the tail light enough/too much or dust falling on wet tint.

But my guess is that its because i used thin coats because i too wanted tinted, not black tails. So its my opinion that less or thin coats you will see more imperfections. More or thicker coats will even out the imperfections. Overlays are probably nicer looking.

That being said, i dont regret it. Only looks sketchy to me because Im looking for it probably.

Took a few today after getting the oil change and reflash. Also a photo of the damage from a hit and run driver, should be fixed by the end of the month.

Ready for winter!

Got some sweet v7 sti goldies for my wrx this winter, so decided to throw my beater rims on the 2012.

Needs drop though. Hopefully after winter. OEM ride height is a fail.

Hey guys I'm looking for some help...

I've been wanting to mount some lights to my roof rack on my 2012 Impreza, the problem is I have the Aero crossbar kit and I can't for the life of me find a mounting bracket that is oval and will fit.

I was going through some accessories and came across the kayak mounting clamps, I was wondering if anyone can shed some light on whether i could clamp these on to my roof rack and then mount some off roading lights to them.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bike-Kayak-M...450372&vxp=mtr

Thanks for the help

Got pictures? I'm going to be doing them myself too with VHT Nite-Shades, did you put a clear coat or two on them afterwards or buff and polish them until they were glossy? I would prefer not to sand them though, knowing that the paint won't adhere to the taillights very well. A can would be more than sufficient for a set of taillights?

I doubt crappy cell phone pics would show the imperfections im talking about. I did about 3 light coats of vht nightshades and maybe 6 or more layers of clear coat. Yes i buffed/polished but i was using 2000 grit paper and meguiars ultimate compound so it took forever, im guessing these dont cut too deep but its better then it was. I used about 1/4 of a can of vht. 1 can is more then enough.

Phew! Well at least it is not as bad as I thought it was there for a few seconds. There is always a positive side to things

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for but here is some fog covers for decently cheap.

Not a problem, glad I could help! Also, you could try your local Subaru dealer. My guess would be the left side, try and match the curves with the part you are looking at.

Never hurts to ask though. You can always turn around and walk out with the same amount of cash you took in. Who knows, probably won't be but maybe theres a chance it could be cheaper and possibly under warranty.

Those are the fog light covers that are used without fog lights. The covers he needs don't include the center section where the lens goes.

Thanks, seems easy enough. I think it looks good. Did you mask off your car and paint your taillights with them still installed or did you take your taillights off and pain them that way?

I had taken off my taillights to replace the bulbs with SMD LEDs but I had never managed to remove the taillights. I would remove the bolts holding the lights in and unhook all the light bulbs to get the taillight assembly to separate from the wiring and bulbs?
