ok if your running a external waste gate then the HKS dp is perfect, if your using a internally gated turbo a bellmouth will relieve turbulence behind the turbine wheel where the HKS because of its flat flange on the wastegate side may cause turbulence behind the turbine wheel.

You can also look at divorced downpipes that break the wastgate gases off completly at first. http://www.rallysportdirect.com/shop...atted_Full.jpg
One way or another you can do what you want to with the pipe you have but you may find gains in spool time and power with a better downpipe. |

Hmmm okay so maybe I should upgrade my downpipe get an intake fuel injectors fuel pump then a tune ? Or run the 20g with injectors and fuel pump current downpipe and upgrade downpipe later?

K well now I've kinda been cinvnced to just go with a gt 35 r and slowly build it. How much is a average price for one ofthese and injectors ? Should I do front mount intake fuel pumpand injectors for now then get it tuned and get the gt35r after that since those are supporting mods ?

You can do it all at the same time if you want. I would still stick with the Blouch turbos : http://www.blouchturbo.com/ their GT35 style model will still have the best spool from what I have seen.

if you have any ideas and the time to help I would greatly appreciate it. Otherwise, no big deal.
in short, stage 2 custom os tuned, 2003 wrx 66,xxx miles. 2 years with the tune everything is good until a long day of auto-x, car feels sluggish. I logged and there is a lot of knock correction. its not particularly lean and the iam is fine, so I'm thinking vacuum leak. I also just got P1443 code which I've had before, not sure if the evap control stuff is related to the knock. any suggestions or ideas? |

This is sort of one of those "my foot hurts whats wrong with me" questions. Without more details and seeing the car its always tough.
Start with the basics... Check for boost leaks especially between the intercooler and throttle body. Hot days and heat soak will lead to some slight knock. You mentioned the IAM stays at 16? Not seeing a lot of rough correction is good. Seeing some FBKC is not always good but depending on how much and where its happening on the map may not always be a cause for concern. Log FBKC, Calculated load, RPM to start with and report back with the numbers. Evap system failure could cause some problems but typically it doesn't. Don't get crazy until you rule out the simple stuff. Quote:

BTW--- P3 Import Autowerks can tune almost anything from 2000+ ... We are a VAST dealer and also can work with Revo to tune VW, Audi, Porsche, and BMW!

Don't run out of oil and if its getting all over the timing belt plan on replacing that at least. We can fix you up if you need it.

Anti-lag on 32 bit ECUs has been attempted by some of the best. I have some maps that sort of make it happen but the results have not been marketable. For 16bit ECUs there is code that has been adapted and it includes speed density. The anti-lag function is moderate.
I do have tunes for speed density only on 32bit ECUs. They work well. The ultimate solution is a full plug and play stand alone ECU. So if your really serious and have about $2500 to spare we can get started. If anyone ever works out anti-lag on the stock 32 bit ECU they will be forever known..Its like the holy grail for the US STI. It can be done it will just take the right motivation to do it. I would pay dearly for even a piece of the code if anyone can show me it. |

Tell me more about speed density on 32bit. Are we talking canned STi tunes or ANY 32bit? The former has been released on Romraider, but the latter hasn't been done AFAIK.

I have working STI speed density tunes. I think I could port it to other 32 bit systems such as a Legacy GT, it might take some time. Do you want to play lab rat?

Is there a reason you feel you need speed density on your car? Besides the cool factor...
You will need to come out when I get some free time and we can start pulling the code apart and comparing. |

Because I'm used to speed density tuning, the fact that I can do any intake, and the smoothness when it's tuned right.

Why do you suppose Subaru decided to ues a MAF sensor?
Also will you be running over the stock MAP sensor limit of 22.5PSI? |

Subaru used a MAF because it's better for average joes and can account for variables easier than speed density. Yes it'll be maxed, upgrade and rescale is forthcoming.

Thats interesting that you see it that way. I see it the other way around.
We have another option if you want to jump on the Cobb AP boat. The Racetuner Pro software allows for speed density tunes but I have to check and see if it goes for Legacy GT as well...Sent an email today to find out. I have the scaling for the AEM 3.5 bar MAP sensor, thats what I use in case I feel like running 50PSI...lol |
