Default Tuner is asking me what compression I am using.

Doing a usual brand new EJ257 short block with 2.0 heads, using STi head gaskets. Tuner is asking me what compression I am using. Sorry if this sounds newb, but is he asking for my compression test numbers on all 4 cylinders? This is first time around on this stuff, help me out!

compression test or compression ratio?

Are you using stock pistons?

If he needs compression test numbers then...........you need to do a compression test. Not sure why he needs these unless he wants to verify your engine is in good working order.

If he wasnts compression ratio..........we need to know which pistons you're using. I can understand why he wasnts to know this.

He is wanting you to do a compression test it sounds like. You are going to need one of these...

And doing this on our cars is a real pita, because of the position of the engine/body.

And like modaddict said above, I really don't understand why he would want this. Compression ratio makes more sense.

I've got a compression tester, that's not an issue. If that's what he needs it's no issue. I emailed him again to clarify. What's going on is my tuner isn't local, so he's gonna send me a base map to break-in my new block until I can get down to him for a complete road tune.

Yes, I'm using the stock EJ257 pistons, so what would my compression ratio be?

He wants to know your compression ratio I guarantee you it, he couldn't care less about your cylinder compression pressure.

uuh just tell him what pistons you're running, what headgasket you've got and what heads you're using...any competent subaru tuner should be able to figure it out.
