Thanks buddy thats cheaper then the other site i found.

Im gonna check with dealership asap. not sure if parts department is open after i get out of work.

That mesh fog light place holder is sold seperately, which led me to believe it is removable and I would be willing to buy it from your link. Worst case scenario i could cut it out. But its 25$ if i remember correctly from that ebay posting.

Thanks for the help.

I had taken off my taillights to replace the bulbs with SMD LEDs but I had never managed to remove the taillights. I would remove the bolts holding the lights in and unhook all the light bulbs to get the taillight assembly to separate from the wiring and bulbs?
I removed the tail lights entirely. Bulbs included. I just disconnected them and taped off the backside. I was surprised how easy removing them was, this being the first car Ive modded (however small mods they are).

Still cheaper than if you'd of broken the fog light itself...

So you left the bulbs attached to the taillight assembly and unhooked the wiring? As opposed to twisting them out?

If you look closely at that pic, you can see a semi-circular crack in the bumper right above the fog light. Thats right ladies and gentleman i was the victim in a hit and run accident.

I am devastated about it but i wont repair the bumper. Its just not worth all the money and hassle to replace the whole thing. The fog light bezel will cost me $30 for the bezel and chrome plastic piece from the dealership. I wont get insurance involved obviously, warranty is out of the question and i will never know who did it.

Ouch, that sucks man. I am super anal with my car and I would be very upset as well. Just wait for the thin paint to pit and chip as it does with most Subarus then you'll have an excuse to fix it!

Do you think the damage will affect the way the bezel fits?

No, theres some clips that seem broken or cracked but im sure ill make it work, ill get some extra screws in there if i think its flimsy.

Yea it sucks, and i wasnt sure if the online parts came with the chrome ring, so i figured just go to dealership and pay the $30. It seemed cheap compared to the deductible id have to pay to replace bumper with insurance involved.

Im gettin some goodies for the car so ill have more pics soon

Just trying to throw some options at you so you would have more than one to think about. Yeah, the $30 seems like a great idea compared to the deductible. What all do you have in mind?

Ok cool that makes sense, thanks.

How much is your deductible anyways? Maybe it will be worth it after you get an estimate from a body shop.

What do you guys think of plasti dip smoke instead of VHT Nite-Shades?

No problem.

Deductible is 500, lol but even if it was like 150 i still wouldnt do it, id rather have the money and live with it.

I hate it actually lol. works better on the grill but id rather have a black grille over grey/chrome. If you try it post pics, you can always peel it off after.

Doesn't seem like it would be worth it then, as long as you can live with it.

Yeah I do admit it looks pretty bad in that video there. I guess the smoke effect makes your taillights look too hazy?

This guy put glossifier on it, which seems to help a bit but then again he is a pretty bad painter.

POST Accident that happend on Sept 10, 2012:

This is the car that did it:

I have been without my car for over a month now. The total damages is about 10k. I got rear ended. I wasnt even moving. I was merely sitting in traffic. The front of my car got slightly damaged too because the impact pushed my car to the car in front.

I should get my car back next week. Hopefully its as good as "new"

SIGH...
Did insurance paid for the 10k damages?

Same thing happened to me, I was moving, guy behind rear ended me HARD and pushed me into the SUV in front of me and damaged the front part of my part. Rear car insurance declared my car totaled but the insurance don't want to pay for the ACV of my car, now I am taking him to small claims court.

Yeah I like the second one too, it looks a lot better. Plasti dip smoke with a couple layers of plasti dip glossifier on it but it still doesn't look as good as VHT Night-Shades.

Careful with that. That might overheat your housing and bulbs. HID's are rated either 35 or 55 watts. I think your Fog lights are rated at 25 watts.

Thanks for that information. I haven't had a problem with them yet, and I have had them for at least 4 months now. Also I have done a 6 hour road trip with them on the entire time and haven't had a problem at all with them.

Does the HID in Fog have any improvement? They weren't great stock, not bad.
