It looks like it says EJ22 in there, so I'm guessing that's not an STi? Either way the power mods look great. Your muffler needs some Viagra though.

Forgive my lack of technical research, but doesn't the EJ22T have fewer main bearings when compared to modern EJ's? Is this a substantial concern that you have stepped back in technology rather than destroking an EJ25? Or perhaps, do the oil squirters and closed deck make up for this?

What heads are you using, the 2.0L? Is that an STi intake manifold or just painted? I ask because I would like to know if the STi intake manifold will fit up to 2.5L heads, but you don't seem to be saying much...

Is the motor built at all or stock internals?

The EJ20 manifolds will only bolt up to EJ20 heads. So no, Graham, it won't work for you.

Here is a quote from another thread: "legacy 2.2 closed deck. bored to 2.5 and sleeved. forged internals with 9:1 comp"

here are some facts on the motor:

i dont know if the ej22 i have has less bearings, but they are placed in different locations then the newer motors. however i do have upgraded bearings and good oiling. the motor comes factory with oil squirters so the pistons stay cool and lubricated.

here is what is done to my motor.

ej22 closed deck block
bored, stroked and sleeved to a 2.5
4340 chromoly forged rods
je forged pistons
custom arp head studs
fully ported and polished heads
rev racing valves
sti valve springs
custom retainers
sti tgv housings
ported intake manifold and throttle body
custom turbo manifold
custom exhaust
garrett ball bearing t04r
tial 40 mm waste gate
blitz front mount
PE 800 cc injectors
denso 310 lph fuel pump
autronic smc2 ecu

while breaking in i am running stock turbo, injectors and ecu.
