Default @awd_anthony 2011 sti build thread

A little over a year ago I built this:

I sold it for this:

Very cool. Very fast. Not me at all

So finally as of last week I got this:

2011 STI Sedan and she only has ~25k.

Has a lot of parts on it. Some I will keep (those carbon lips ) but most I will sell for other parts/brands I like.

After having it for only a few days, its already being torn apart.

Switched from an MXP catback and catted dp to an N1 race and tomei catless. Currently has HKS coilovers and they are great, but they don't have camber plates which I need so I have BCs with swift springs coming this weekend. The Advan wheels are also cool but aren't NEARLY aggresive enough for my liking, so those had to go as well.

Waiting for the invoice to order my wheels, which i will be keeping a secret even to NASIOC for now but they should be pretty cool. I don't think any other subaru has them, but we will see in about 4 months.

A lot more plans! so stay tuned, as always this thread will be where I reveal most of the things I'm doing, unlike my instagram @awd_anthony

(disclaimer: stating this right from the beginning because I know NASIOC doesn't like slammed cars, YES I like stance, YES it will have some camber and YES this car will have a decent size turbo in it. NO I don't care if you don't like it it's my car and I'm building it for me not you. I have zero plans to track it only take it to a few shows. "oh then why even make it go fast then"...because I think its cool. I encourage constructive criticism but really have no interest in your "you ruined a perfectly good rally car" comments)

still making progress! slow progress but still. finally had a chance to get an exact measurement for the spacers and they get here Tuesday. There is going to be way more camber than I intended but I'm okay with it, plays more into the whole 326 power look anyway. here is a progress pic while I was messing around with the fronts

life has been kicking me in the butt, I'm switching jobs, moving apartments and going on a 15 day trip to Japan and Bangkok all in the next couple months but I promise she will be ready for this season!

Wheels will be on thursday

ok update! I went on a trip to asia that was amazing. Japan was really cool and i got to see some cool cars riding around the streets, like the 2018 wrx wagon which looks sick. when I got back she went in the shop to install some parts and had my exhaust fabricated.

Fully stainless steel 100% custom. 3" with 4" quad tips and 1 resonator. Current setup is tomei elh, tomei catless dp, and this straight pipe with 1 resonator and I love the way it sounds. not raspy and very deep while still very loud. Done by my good friends at @stsautodesign. If anyone is in the Westchester NY area I highly recommend them for any fabricating needs.

she is very dirty but here are a few pics

(that is not my house lol, I wish)

haha my friend's house is too nice not to take some pics.

thanks john! I'm getting good videos this weekend (drive-by, warm start, revs, etc etc)

I will eventually go air! just unsure if it will be with this wheel setup or the next but you know I'll be all up in those DMs

ok so update. Last weekend I had a HORRIBLE experience at Little Bear Alignments in Buchanan NY. I dropped my car off Saturday morning to 1. Max camber all around 2. lower the front coilovers and 3. align the car. When I came to pickup the car I was told that he couldn't lower the fronts because they were seized, I needed a new suspension and that he did what he could with the camber. He told me he got as much negative camber as possible while still keeping the toe at 0.

obviously, I was upset no one wants to drop another $1000+ on new suspension but these things happen.

I got the car home, jacked her up and figured let me try and break them free before I order something new. Not only were they not seized but they spun easier than any other coilovers I've ever worked with.

At this point I'm pretty angry because I have worked with this shop for a long time. I took my car last night down to my friend Keith at The Stance Shop in queens (@e46_keith) to do what I had asked Little Bear to do and he got the job done no problem. While it was there I also realized when it was on the alignment rack that the toe was way off. In conclusion, Little Bear did not even touch my car and charged me $150+ for nothing.

Although there is not much I can do because I wasn't physically there and have no proof, I will be calling Little Bear this week to complain. Anyone who reads this post, take this as a formal warning not to work with these people.

ok, now on a positive note! my car is aligned. @papiflyy worked his magic, added a little camber and lowered the front a good amount. The car looks great and I'm going back within the next couple weeks to add some more suspension arms so I can kick the camber out even more (to rub a little less). Overall, very happy with their work and excited to keep the build going (without having to drop $1000+ on new coilovers)

I will add pictures soon! I also added the 326 power lugs and stickers.
