They are presenting a end of line Outback X-break in Japan soon. Last special series before switching over to new models

Hey guys how about this for a legacy ts, it looks beautiful.
Imagine if they introduced this before an STI refresh. Looks good, if it came with 6 speed it definitely grab my attention.

that would be in line with next year's new york auto show, if it not shown at the Chicago motor show. the levorg in Japan only comes with a cvt. As such, we wouldn't need it since the outback is coming with a turbo engine. you want your lowered turbo wagon, swap out the raised shocks for coilovers or bags. we may have lost the forester xt for now, but we get back the outback xt in its place next year. those who insist on the manual with the turbo engine could try a wrx transmission swap.

Now, I am not a gear head by much measure; but, the cars of today are not quite the cars of old that did transmission swaps. With EyeSight now standard, I can see a "wrong" transmission making your gauge cluster into a Christmas tree and other things just not meshing. Am I wrong?

I agree on your concern of tranny swapping. but at least we will get back our turbo wagon, more or less. that 2.4 turbo wont struggle as much to pull the legacy or outback as long as the tune and power from the ascent is not downgraded to comply with the difference in weight or purpose.

No STI hatch means I might Outback XT, so still a win for Subaru.

The SGP should, theoretically, allow for more swapped parts between models. Brembos on my Impreza, please?

Perhaps this Christmas tree theory would work better as a solution to screen induced driving retardation rather than eyesight that only mitigates the symptom. But I suppose it won’t matter much to Subaru’s main demographic of geriatric boomers who are easily confused and panic when they see a bunch of flashing lights.

Joke? Cause Subaru's main demographic is 30s-40s. Unless you are in your 20s and calling me old.

And EyeSight doesn't do a thing unless you are doing something wrong minus some crap on the roads like in construction zones. Which, then, you can turn it off. I hear the "fears" of EyeSight and typically shake my head. It never overrides the driver except if the driver doesn't give enough braking force. To avoid an accident or to lessen it. The only reasons to dislike EyeSight is the occasional beep that can be turned of and the price. I just can't believe that everyone here is such a perfect driver that EyeSight(or any of the driver assist systems out there worth a damn) would never be appreciated.

Don't want to pay for it? I can understand that; but, better get used to the idea as these things are going to be 100% standard(on ATs) soon. Across the industry. Not just Subaru.

makes you wonder if STI is thinking of anything for the outback now that it is getting the turbo engine, and then you have legacy which weighs less than the outback with the same engine.

you could remedy the ride height on the 2020 outback with coilovers or bags and you would still have the turbo power and space you want

Ain’t nobody younger than 65 buying a new Subaru. Have you seen the new Subarus with their CVT transmissions? Eyesight is for old people with diminished reactions. C’mon.

If take rate of Forester XT was 5%, I wonder what take rate is for H6 Legacy.

The direct answer is no.

But, I am in the them a bunch. And different than an owner, I am in ALL the models with it a bunch. Some customers don't trust trying out things; so, I do a lot of driving to demonstrate. Which includes local traffic(high volume road) and a highway loop. What's your definition of "significant" miles? It's not DD amount; but, I do get to use them when going on training trips. Going the 8th as a matter of fact. 12 hours of driving. I used to do dealer trades.

And I get the stories from owners. Absolutely there are the ones that don't like it. Most do however. I understand why someone wouldn't like it; but, I go back to saying it's THEIR driving for the main reason of why they don't like it. Don't like it beeping at you? Drive straight. Use your turn signals(it's the law, by the way). Stop tailgating. I was/am a driver that gets mitigated while driving. Used to be beeping. LKA is my new friend in that it has the car beeping at me less.

I knew it was small; but, I was even surprised when I checked our numbers. I could have SWORN it was more; but, we have sold a whopping 16 Legacys this year. 2 of them are 3.6. And get this. They are both to the same customer. The 1st one was an 18. Was hit by another car and Legacy was totaled. No more 18s close, so we found a 19. That's it. Two.....all year.

Outbacks are a different story. 285 total 18s and 19s. 71 are 3.6s.
