RIP, my sweet Emily...
So, I haven't owned a Subaru in a while, but I was an active member here when my twins were born and they were announced to the world here in TXIC, so I thought it appropriate to send Emily out on the same platform on which she was introduced.
On Sunday, August 25 @ 1am, my daughter Emily, woke my wife and myself screaming in pain. We rushed to her aid and were with her as she screamed and passed out. We summoned EMS and were in the St David's ER very quickly when the Dr did a CT scan and informed us that she had had a massive brain bleed. They put her in a chemically induced coma and she was on a life-flight to Dell Children's hospital, where she was assessed and immediately was taken into emergency surgery. While they put a stint in her head to help relieve the pressure, her lungs filled with fluid, she stopped breathing and her heart stopped. CPR was performed and they were able to establish a heart beat, but that caused her blood vessel to burst again, this time causing more pressure and much more damage. She was on life support for 8 days with no signs of waking up when they did an MRI and found she has about a baseball sized portion of her cerebellum was damaged beyond repair and showed no signs of electrical activity. At this point we decided as a family(me, my wife, her twin brother and older sister) that if Emily would not want to be "kept alive" in this situation with no chance of ever recovering. We made arrangements to have her organs donated, and were happy to find out just yesterday that her left kidney helped to save a woman's life. I'm sorry I didn't post this here earlier. I'll post some pics and the link to the Facebook fundraiser page tomorrow as I'm at work and can't do it from here. I miss you Emily! I love you so much!
