I have a PSM Bugeye myself and I was thinking about covering my whole trunk in metallic silver vinyl so it doesnt look like crap with just the holes covered. Anyways, setup looks good so far man!

No, just bumping for no reason.

That sounds a bit interesting. I don't know how well it would turn out though. Might be worth a shot. Easy enough to take off if you don't like it.

The cage is interesting. Who built it? The front hoop seems way too low.

Fobia did it. He's done several 8.5 sec cages in Subaru's now.

Car is still the same. Haven't had time to do much of anything since the last update. Just moved into a new house and have been busy with that. Hopefully I can get a chance to work on it sometime soon. Next round of mods will be a more significant effort.

I'm curious to see what you do with the heads. I have my 07 six speed done and I'm looking for engine mods beyond maxing the td04. After reading up I think the heads need to be addressed with cams or avcs. Not to mention a cross drilled crank... Keeping that in mind, do you have smog regulations where you live? And are you going to retain any daily drivability in this car?

You're going to do built heads on a TD04? I don't think there's very much bang for the buck there. I'd do a larger turbo and/or a built 2.5L or hybrid before doing built heads on a stock 2.0L with TD04. But I guess it depends on what your goals are.

There isn't any emissions testing where I live. The car is not a daily driver, so that's not the focus. I don't mind a slightly uncomfortable car if I'm not driving it all the time. I would like a little bit off powerband, but going all out to keep it as wide as possible isn't really the plan. Looking to get some more peak power for sure.

Yeah I was planning a larger turbo with a 2.5 or a jdm swap. Just trying to research and plan a year or so in advance. Looking at your past setups, they had decent low torque with high peak power. Now you are with a different base platform. So I guess I'm going to sit back and wait for the show.

I was thinking it was going to be an electric car with the service panel. Or that special electric turbo supplied with 240 v.

Just curious..I see you partially wrapped your GS TMIC with reflect-a-gold. I'm just wondering why you left the front end tank uncovered. It seems like this is where the lion's share of the ambient heat from the block would be coming from. I'm currently in the process of wrapping the bottoms/sides of the end tanks on my PW TMIC. I've seen heat tests on the reflect a gold from Herocrank on the turbo heat shield. Have you actually seen any tests proving that the reflective tape lowers intake charge or are you in the "can't hurt" club? Thanks Ben! Hopefully this hasn't already been covered somewhere else in this thread.

The top of the block isn't very hot compared to the turbo. That's why the rear is covered. GrimmSpeed did some testing on the thermal tape and found it to be effective. I can't seem to find the info though. Putting it on the front certainly wouldn't hurt either.

Tonight is garage moving night. Everything from the old garage is going to the new one. It's going to be a pain. Motor and tranny are going to be strapped to pallets. I hope everything makes it OK! Once I'm moved, maybe I will get around to actually installing some things...

i've got a brilliant idea, put the stuff into the bug, ditch the 2.0L and 5-speed. BOOM no pallets needed to move
