Default Replacement STI struts, 2004, 2005-07

These are OEM rebuilt and revalved struts for your 2004 and 2005-07 Subaru Impreza WRX STI. They will out perform and outlast your original struts. We can also sell you struts that are custom tailored to your aftemarket springs and or driving style/needs at no extra charge. You can mail back your old sti struts for a $350 core refund.

The Revalve Service that we perform to the STI struts includes:

Cleaning and re greasing strut housings (eliminates strut clunk)
Polishing out nicks and glazed spots from insert surface (long term reduction of strut clunk causing friction)
Revalving inserts (improves ride quality over stock)
High performance motocross grade shock fluid and nitrogen recharge (less change in ride comfort in cold weather)
*Installation of Zerk fittings ($20 extra)*

What the heck are Zerk fittings for?
We strategically place this fitting between the strut's bushings. This now allows you to add fresh grease to your struts without removing them from your car! When grease is worked away from the strut bushings, the strut begins to clunk. By applying more grease via a Zerk fitting, you create grease pressure between the bushing and fill the dry spots.

Your set up the options explained:

Tarmac Spec (most popular)- Great for high spirited driving utilizing the original or aftermarket springs. "Tarmac Spec" offers a more compliant and balanced ride over stock. There is a noticeble ride improvement driving on rough road surfaces as well as tighter curvy roads.

Gravel Spec- This is ideal for those who participate in Rallyx or demand more performance on gravel. Gravel spec valving is harsher at low vehicle speed, but resists bottoming at higher speeds and big ruts. There is more high speed rebound damping to control rebound speeds after the sturts get close to bottoming. We do not recommend this spec for daily driving.

Custom Spec- This is for those who have dedicated their cars to a specific use such as road racing or just want to run a spring rate that is much softer or stiffer than the original spring rate.

You can also choose to ship your struts in for the service:Save money on shipping by not sending us your springs or top hats. We will finish the work within 5 business days and ship them back to you. You can prepay using our website below, or simply send us your contact info and we will call you for your billing and shipping details. Going this route you will avoid the refundable $350 core fee.

2005-07 Cores in stock!!!

We now have struts in stock ready to ship for 2004 and 2005-07 models!

Ok man, ive looked at your posts about this and im having a hard time figuring out what you are selling.

-Is this revalve only for stock springs or can aftermarket, higher spring rate, lower ride height aftermarket springs easily be put on with little ride consequence.

-Will this revalve ride better or worse then the oem shock/strut from a DD stand point?

-Is compression being hardened or softened?
-Is rebound being softened or hardened?

Basically, what are the oem shocks downfall? How will your revalved shock perform better then oem valving?

Really curious man.

This revalve is for stock or aftermarket springs. If you run a much stiffer or lower spring we can custom valve your inserts, hence the "custom" option on the add. Same goes if you want to use a softer spring like WRX springs. There is no price difference for this option.

The ride qualiy will feel more balanced from a DD standpoint.

The oem shocks are improved by tuning:

-More compression damping to the front
-Less compression damping to the rear
-Less rebound damping to the rear

The graph illustrates the changes we make from the oem settings.

Hope that answers your questions, and thanks for asking.

I wish you guys had come out with this a couple of weeks ago. I would've loved to have had this option instead of buying d-specs (which clunk btw).

Shipping might be a bear with this service. Might want to tell people up front what they should expect.

I'm sorry man.

We will ship these back for $30 anywhere in the continental States. (Springs and top hats must be removed for this rate).

Yes we can. Do not have a feasable price for that service yet.

I am looking for a few sets of Sti struts so I can offer this. I will do an exchange as soon as I have a few sets on hand. We only have "parts" struts at the moment.

Thanks. Can you send me the link where you found that number.

Yes. You would just be left with the fun of cleaning out the old grease and re greasing your strut bodies. We will ship back the inserts for $20 anywhere in the continental States. (No strut bodies, springs, or top hats)

Quote:

The common clunking problem is solved with proper greasing, we do that during this service.

Thanks for all your questions.

How long will you be running this special? I'm not completely sold on keeping my PSS9s, but would need something better-valved than OEM.

And to clarify, $400 for the revalve + $30 for return shipping (strut assemblies with inserts) + we pay shipping up-front from us to you...?

This price will be going for a few months. I want to get as many revalved units out there as I so people realize how well their sti suspension can perform.

You got the pricing right.

I called earlier today and spoke to a helpful guy (can't remember your name, sorry!), and he told me they'd completed 2 revalves so far. I would like those 2 individuals (who are hopefully on this forum) to chime in.

Really, I don't see any negative long-term effects (given my limited suspension knowledge). Even if there were any, OEM take-offs are pretty cheap used, anyway. It's basically like getting a brand-new strut at 0 miles (outside of the existing wear on the outside of the strut housing).

So I have been getting alot of emails and some calls for this service. I asked one of the first customers to write up a review of the service. He has had it for a few months now.

I should also have a few 2004 cores by the end of this month. You will be able to purchase a complete set of struts and send your old ones in for exchange.

I am still on the look out for some 05+ struts to keep for cores.

As far as long term data:

The way we service these inserts is very similar to the way we service most other inverted road and rally suspension. We have cars that have logged numerous horrific races on struts we service and revalve.
We use genuine KYB vavling shims from Japan when revalving these inserts. We also use the same motocross grade shock fluid as we do for all of the race cars we service.

I think i may have been the first one to have the Feal Suspension re-valved STi struts installed on my 04 STi. I have written up a complete review here.

Check it out if you're interested in this service, so far i am very happy with them!

this is definately an exciting option for those with worn out stockers not looking to spend a ton of money on replacements/upgrades. I just replaced my rears with JDM RA units, but I would definately consider doing this when my fronts start to crap out. Good stuff!
