Default 08+ Hatch Rear Bumper Questions

Hey everyone,

So today driving home from Orlando to Sarasota, 400 miles on my new 13 WRX, I get rear-ended at a stoplight. The bumper is going to have to be replaced, as theres a slight crack in it.

Basically my question is, is the JDM rear bumper any different than US? Should I look into upgrading to a JDM bumper so I can have a rear fog, or just get the bumper replaced with an OEM US bumper? I was planning on buying a diffuser sometime soon so I want to do the right thing now when the bumper has to come off of the car anyway. Thoughts?

The bumpers are identical except for maybe the rear reflectors are replaced with actual lights on the JDM (doubt it though).

Same thing happened to me last week. Kinda sucks we can't use the opportunity to upgrade to a new bumper like on an Evo or Mustang haha. At least I can get a new exhaust out of the deal, mine is bent pretty good.

I thought the JDM rear fog was only on the sedan, that's why you can buy them aftermarket and fit them. Pics of a hatch with center rear fog?

The hatch has a rear fog overseas, but it's in the tail light and always on the drivers side.

If you are talking about putting them into the reflector locations on the bumper, they have that part at japanparts.com. it's a bit pricey though. I have been contemplating doing this myself. Here's a thread with someone who has done it http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2231444

Oh if we're talking about the ones in the bumper. Yeah they are just an aftermarket reflectors/brake light kit. I have them and have them wired in with my brake lights. And got them here http://shop.jwmotoring.com/product.sc?productId=493
