Updating this thread with some new information from the previous owner. I mentioned the service around 61.5k miles that included the timing belt and some other things, this was done by the PO. I just got the entire invoice from him for that job. It includes over $2000 in parts, a very comprehensive overhaul with dozens and dozens of gaskets, hoses, etc. You won't see labor in there because he owns the shop, but he told me the labor was around $3500.

What is not included on this particular invoice is the Clutch and Water Pump/Timing Belt kit, as well as the fuel lines that go under the intake manifold that are prone to leaking in cold weather. Those parts were ordered with all the other aftermarket/upgrade parts earlier in time, including the exhaust parts and TMIC, injectors, OEM turbo w/ billet compressor, etc. He could not find the invoice that includes those parts, but you can clearly see it was done by visually looking in the engine bay. The grouping of parts that were ordered in the invoice that is shown also does obviously suggest the other items were done.

Pretty sure I almost bought this car 3-4 years ago from Choice Auto in Shrewsbury, MA. They sold it to perfect power if I remember correctly who must have sold it to you. Perfect Power does good work and reputable in the Porsche community. GLWS.

Yes, that is the car. Sol bought it sight unseen from MA, he said it was an auction I believe. He had it shipped to Illinois. Any chance you have any details on the original owner or anything like that? Did you ever see the car in person in MA? Was it on the original ENKEI wheels? Yeah, Perfect Power is awesome in the Porsche community and from what I was told Sol loves his Subarus. He spared no expense on going over this car with a fine tooth comb just as he would with any of his Porsches.

I actually have the POs email address. Subaru gave it to me accidentally when I called in for the warranty on the airbag. They said "and your email is still <insert POs email here>" and I said .... "repeat that email again?" LOL.

Would love to know some more history on it if you have anything else.

I don't know much but I wouldn't have considered purchase if it wasn't on stock wheels, so I assume those were on there then but I don't remember 100%. I think it had a missing front lip and some front end damage that occurred in the choice lot. I think it just needed either a bumper or some bumper paint I forget exactly. I wanted the car for like 23 because of the damage and I don't think he would budge off 25k or something like that. It was a 1 owner car at that point if I remember correctly which was enticing to me.

Thanks for the information, I was interested what it was listed at originally. PO did indicate that they put a new lip on it. The bumper is in pretty good shape, a few nicks and scratches and some parts do look repainted. It is not damaged though, so maybe it was just a repaint you were thinking of. Anyways I really appreciate the information!

I was just talking about this with someone on FB, I don't really get it either.

I have a fly and drive buyer that has booked a flight for November 1, and the car is going in for a compression test this Tuesday on October 26th at the potential buyers request.

It was also accepted to BaT last week on October 13th, and their lead time is 4 weeks for a listing draft then another week until go live. So if it hasn't sold before around November 17th, it's going up on BaT. Just need to work out a good reserve with them. I think it will do well there if it comes to that.

I'd certainly take is expect it's just outside of the budget I wanted to stay in.

Yeah, I tend to find that everyone seems to have a 20k budget for GD STIs, it's so common. And plenty of people would rather buy a 140k STI in worse shape for $17-20k, instead of paying $4-8k more for half the miles and much better shape. It's quite strange, but I understand people have budgets that they need to work with.

For me it's a budget thing and paying $25K for a GD. For that much I can purchase a 2015 STI at reasonable mileage. It's a great looking car, and would love to have it sitting in my garage, but in the end it's out of my budget range at the current price.
