Flickr keep your original resolution so yes it is better and it also offers more storage space. Your focus was off on those pics. zoom in on your live view and focus. But yea that is one nice sunrise.

Hey guys! New here, but have been making my way thru this thread from the first post til now (lots of time at work) and have learned a lot. There are some truly amazing pics on here. I wanted to post some shots from Formula D Atlanta and see what you thought and get some tips/criticism. I went for a darker moody look than I normally do. Also, going to start making my watermarks smaller and more transparent so they aren't as distracting. Thanks!

Do you have any advice for taking pictures of dark colored vehicles. I took these two this last weekend and I would love to have any advice possible on them.

Great photography advice. Will definitely apply and come in handy as I prepare to put my car up for sale soon.

That last one is great! I'm sure it's quick involved, but what are you doing to maintain the lighting on the car, while not blowing out the sky? Is this HDR? is is a combination of shots? or is this fancy editing? I'd love to know how to achieve that range!

Appreciate the compliment!
It was bright enough outside for the car to have good lighting but the sky wasn't bright enough yet so it didn't blow out. It is not HDR (I have no idea how to do that) it's just one shot. It was shot in RAW so I did have to edit it.
I really don't know much about this stuff since I've only had this camera for 2 weeks, still learning everything. I don't know how much help I will be.

I don't know if that helps any.

I'm officially part of the full frame family. Just got my new Canon 6D this week. I can't wait to start working with it!

Any input would be nice
Sky looks good, but the car is a bit underexposed this time around. This is a situation where using a low ISO and a tripod will be best

Lately I've been into selective color photography xD just a personal style thing. Definintely learning a lot though. Although I'll stop taking photo for a bit as my next project is a cenima style car video.

Here's a few more shots from that day. The forester definintely gave me the best pictures:
Sure thing. I actually like the blue WRX photo the best out of these ones you've just posted. Be careful with your back lights and when shooting with much of the car in the the shadows. Also, try not to have the car too close to the edge of the frame either.

I like these two pics that you posted, but I do think they're a tiny bit underexposed. The film style looks great, but I think just a little more exposure would really help make them pop more. As for the reflection on the doors, this is where using multiple exposures with different polarizations would help with that.

Took a ton but pretty much all came out crappy or blurry.
But again any input is great

Also is Flickr better than Photobucket in terms of quality?

*edit*

posted now from Flickr
That sky is gorgeous! But yes, it's time for a tripod and polarizer to really help out your photos. Taking these handheld at a higher ISO isn't doing them justice. Also, be mindful of your compositions...the second one in particular has the Forester a bit too centered in the frame.

And yes, Flickr is way better than Photobucket in terms of quality.

Welcome! You've got some decent stuff here, but I think the first photo could be a little sharper. Panning's not easy, so you just gotta get out there and practice. The second photo is nice and sharp, but I think the low saturation and exposure doesn't really work well in this case since both cars are already dark, except for the top of Patrick Mordaunt's car. I think the third photo of Danny George's car could be a lot better if it wasn't taken from normal standing eye level.

For dark cars, a polarizer makes a GIGANTIC difference, especially because you'll be able to eliminate a lot of the reflections and actually see the paint of the car pop. That's the biggest problem I see in these two photos you've posted, because instead of the actual color of the car, we're seeing the reflection of the clouds and background in the car. Here's an example of how a polarizer can help get rid of some of those reflections, but still allow the car to look nice and shiny:
