Just make sure you give the bolt a healthy squirt of PB blaster a couple times with those good vibes. Curious to see if it works for anyone else or if I just got lucky. Last time though I broke an Allen bit then used that method and they came off.

you can also heat up the bolts to loosen them but you can fry the gears if you arent careful. sometimes there is no other way especially if you round out the head. ive also welded sockets onto the bolt then broke them loose that way.

Heating makes me nervous on plastic gears. Idk. I'll try an impact tomorrow, if it doesn't work ill grind it or drill it. Not to stressed over drilling it. Any input on valves gents? I'm thinking GSC or Supertech.

I hit them with the impact a couple times, then breaker bar with a longer pipe on it for 1-2mins. If that doesn't work get your drill and go at it. |

Disregard. I like all the supporting evidence on behalf of H beams.

Which supporting evidence for the h beams? I've heard a couple people say that now and haven't found anything really.

I've read thread after thread on here of people successfully using H beams with some ARP fasteners and having good reliable power levels upwards of 600. There are equally as many supporting discussions on I beams though.

Oh I gotcha. I thought you meant like the enginerding math for it. I've been too lazy to dig out an old textbook and take a look at it.

I'll be honest, m not that much of a nut that would take it so far as to getting into the engineering aspect of it. I Mean maybe a little but nothing crazy lol.

Lol I know I've got problems, I would like to but oh well. If you don't want problems then go with a proven rod there are several. Carrillo h beams, BC I beam, pauter x beams, Manley turbo tuffs. Won't have any problem with any of them. I picked the BC I beam because out of those its the cheapest.

Upon disassembly of the old motor I found this little gem of an oil pump. Finally an answer to my phantom oil leak.

I like ferrea too but I don't see any problem with supertech. I also think the inconel is worth it. I've been wondering if the stock exhaust valves are inconel for 2007+ they are pretty expensive while the intakes are cheap.
That sucks with the pump. Guess it doesn't matter now lol. |

Short block is dropped off at machine shop. Just need to hear about bearing measurements and then I'll order bearings and we'll be good to go on the short block.

Have you looked at the BC I-beans? They can be had for cheap new after some searching.

I have and I can get a great deal on them. I just keep reading things that say H beams are plenty strong then I see I beams are the way to go. Ah! Why do. have so many rods on my mind. . . . . . . Any takers on that one? Lol.
