I get all my stuff off of Amazon since I have a Prime Account and shipping if free. It helps to have a good DA polisher with a decent backing plate and quality buffing pads otherwise it's all elbow grease. Blah! Even using a DA polisher, it will take many hours of work. It is quite rewarding though to see the results of your efforts. |

Adams polishes or chemical guys. Both have great products but kinda pricey. Start off w/a porter cable or go ahead and upgrade to a flex or even a cyclo.

Actually, they were asking us to come back during race weekends. So they could test n tune between runs. This is so the crowd isn't sitting around waiting for the big cars to cool down.
This will be the last for me unless I get the tune finish before the snow hits. |

Product list is at the top of thread. The meguiars 2 step polish setup is pretty hard to beat as it's fairly inexpensive for what it does and can usually finish up real nice even on the harder to finish paints. I tried talking to the people at Chemical Guys about their products and they either didn't have time/didn't care so that really turned me off from their products.

As for the Chemical Guys products, I do have 6 or 7 of their Hex-Logic polishing/buffing pads and they are very good. Those I would recommend if you're using a DA polisher with a backing plate. Although, the red pad for Fine Finishing can't take a lot of abuse -- mine came apart BUT it could have been improper use too. |

^Gotta make sure whichever da you're using is completely flat not angled any way or it'll rip the pads up, otherwise you can always grab some 4" pads for smaller or harder to reach areas. Chemical guys is alright but they seem to have too many of the same products. I personally use Adams polishes, works great.

I think I may have let it get too loaded. Plus, I used it with compound so I may have over or missed used it. It lasted throughout the polishing but it eventually tore out at the center. No biggy though, it's a really light soft pad and I have one of each anyway.

Forgive my inexperience but what does it mean if the turbo is leaking oil into the intercooler?

Well it could be a clogged pcv that can cause oil to pump throught the turboni to the intercooler or the oil seals in the turbo going bad can cause oil in the intercooler and would go through the exhaust.

If it's the seals does the turbo have to be replaced?

If the turbo has a rebuild kit , the seals can be replaced.

Apparently a nice older lady didn't like the front end of my car... So we decided to do this:
Good thing I head back to the Slope for work on Tuesday. No need for a car. Edit: Dent Dude's got this right? |

She took a left turn across my lane to a side street literally right in front of me. I had maybe 2 seconds to react, which were slam on breaks and try to glance off. It didn't quite work, turned into a T-bone. We're both fine, and that's all that matters. Sure I'll be a little swore tomorrow.
The car on the other hand... Not sure what happened (cable off battery terminal most likely), but I have no electronics, but the car ran for a good 15 seconds until I realized it didn't die and shut it off. Had it towed to my body shop. Never tasted airbags before, and I'd like to honestly say I never want to again. |

Yeah, that should buff out.
Seriously, that's too bad. Your Forester looked really good. Glad you have a good attitude about it. Being at work, away from it will give you some time to come up with a plan for what happens next. And I agree, airbags taste like poop. Once is enough for me too. |
