Default 09 forester ecu issues!

09 Forester 5mt NA clean car. Got it flooded (water line was just into the cabin perfectly up to the ecu. So the ecu got fried, but everything else seems to of made it. I put a junkyard ecu in it and established communication with it but was not able to reprogram it with my scan tool. Does anyone know if I can put a ecu/ignition/immobilizer module from an auto forester of same year into my manual and it work fine? Or is dealer for new ecu my only option?
