I like the headlight mod. I can't really tell but did you paint the inside chrome parts black? I'd do it but I am not ready to play surgeon on them yet. Also how dark is your tint? I want to go something not too dark. I'm undecided between 38% or 35%.

Nice man, the headlight mod and the tint really make that car look sweet.

Thanks for the positive comments. The wheels do look pretty bad. I just spent 3 hours detailing the car. I should have taken the extra 15 minutes to do the wheels.

The tint is 35% all around.

The inside chrome is painted black. you can check out a close-up pic here:

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...5&pagenumber=4

I'll take another close-up of them mounted in the car.

Here is a close-up. I couldn't get a good shot without glare.

That's awsome. After seeing your pics, I'm going to do the headlight mod this weekend and try to get some tints after I get a dent or two fixed

Looks nice, android99! Makes me wish I had taken the time to paint mine while I had them apart.

Are the headlights really smoked, or is it just the lighting?

Here's a semi-close view of mine. I removed the orange pieces but didn't paint the chrome.

Thanks for the positive comments.

The headlights aren't smoked. Just a nasty glare.

This was a nice 4 month resurrection. Sad to say I haven't done any more mods since. I am planning on getting Eibach springs as soon as they come out and then I can finally get some different wheels.

Default question

I have the orange removed but I'm still considering painting the chrome pieces.

By the way, does painting them black take away from the brightness or reflectivness of the headlights at all?

One quick question, is there an orange piece in front of the blinker bulb? If so then I'll need to buy some amber bulbs.

Yes, there is an orange piece. You might be able to use clear bulbs in the front. Most states allow this. Just check with your dept. of transportation.

Not at all. Subaru did an excellent job designing the two separate chrome pieces that make up the interior of the headlight. The piece I painted does little, if any, reflecting. The unpainted chrome surrounding the bulbs does all the reflecting. Once you get your headlights apart you will see what I mean. It almost seems Subaru designed the headlight specifically for this mod.

I must also add, I haven't seen any pictures that do this mod any justice (although Gerbs get real close). You really need to see this in person.
