Well, which is it?
Anyway, this is a powertrain forum. There's another forum dedicated to electrical stuff 12 below this one, and another on conversions (engine swap stuff). Both are more likely to have better info than this one. |

I know the '04 WRX/RS 5 speed will both plug right into a V8 STI cluster. However, I don't think it will work with an automatic because the wiring for an automatic cluster also allows you to see if you are in Neutral, Drive, Reverse, etc.

Why do people do this?
"I don't think" isn't a yes, or a no. Just someone's belief. If you don't know, for 100 percent positively sure, don't say "I don't think."
Yes. An automatic will work with a STi cluster. Hell, if you get one with the DCCD display, the DCCD lights even work in order.. but there's no light for P. I know. I've done it. I had to rewire a plug pin to get the alarm light to blink, but everything else works. R and N are yellow, the rest are green. A non-DCCD cluster doesn't give you the PRNDLL. A DCCD cluster will give you RNDLL. Easy peezy. |
