Default New Tri-State Shop...same old faces!

Hello!

As you may know I have been working with Cobb Tuning for a while now. My experience there has been amazing. From writing the GTR mapping to co developing the tuning software, it has been a tremendous experience. For that I have to thank Trey and everyone there(especially Chris). I have been very lucky to develop some strong relationships in the industry and because of those relationships I have had the opportunity to move back out to the NJ area and open a new shop!

We will continue to maintain a very strong relationship with Cobb as I will continue to do map development and verification as an extended member of the Cobb Tuning team. We will continue to do the ETunes for Cobb, so you can contact me directly for that as well.

The shop will be privately owned and run. We have a two mechanics on staff, Melo and Evan...yup you all know them . Evan brings additional fabrication expertise to the staff as well. We will also have another tuner in house that all of you know, and I am looking forward to working with in the future! The staff offers years of expertise in the SpoCom market, from Subaru to GTR, this will be the place for all of your needs.

We will have the only load bearing dyno in the area (Mustang) and will be running discount specials all season. The shop will provide everything from custom tuning and fabrication to engine builds and installations. We may be new to the building, but we have been around for years, and look forward to working with all of you!

The new shop is named AKUMA Motorsports and will be located on the corner of Texas Road and Route 9, minutes from Englishtown Raceway. The shop will be open for appointments by July 7, and we will have a grand opening later in the month. We have quite a few appointments booked already, so if you need a tune don't hesitate to PM me for the details.

Keep an eye out for posts for updates and general shop info. I can't wait to see you at the shop or track very soon.

Thank You.

Hi John,

Welcome back to beautiful, historic New Jersey.

Can you name names or must we wait?

As far as the employees? Or the other tuner? The tuner wanted to wait until he sorted out a few things. He does not want to burn any bridges. In fact, I encouraged him to maintain all good relationships... there is enough business, and we should all be able to get along and help each other out with out cannibalizing our own revenue.

We have so many big things in store. As most know, I have been doing the testing for Forced Performance on the new HTA turbos. We will continue to do that... I am working with a company on a new GTR Turbo Kit...so many other projects.

We will also have a monthly meet at the shop for everyone with food and some discounted dyno sessions. Our lot holds over 40 cars and we are not in a neighborhood, so the noise is not an issue. I could keep going, but I will stop ranting...LOL

Thanks for the return welcome, I can not wait to get going at the shop!

Welcome back John. Its Carl, remember me? I gave you the tail light overlays for your 08. Anywho, do you guys tune "blow through" MAFs? Whats your take on that vs the MAF on the intake?

This is awesome; I've been hoping for a great tuner/shop to open up a little closer to me and this is pretty damn good! Good luck guys; you'll be hearing from me when I'm ready for a tune!

Carl- Actually blow thru would be no problem, we have the newest speed density for all subarus so we can run you with that in hybrid or speed density mode which ever you prefer. We can also tune you traditionaly as well with MAF. One of the benefits at working at COBB is we have all of the newest software =)

FYI we can tune Suby Mitsu Nissan Infinity Mazda GTR Honda with the ap software and we can do stand alone's as well.. we can pretty much tune anything.

Thank you for the warm welcome I cannot wait to work with all of you guys again.
Looking froward to seeing you at the shop!

You mean Crazy Horse? And no they do not. They have inertia dynos... but they tune Mustangs..lol The AWD dyno is a trailer with two rollers....totally different. The only reason I know, is I was looking at a building in their lot.

As always, thanks for the warm welcome!

vivalaWRX- of course you can tow to our shop, that is one of the reasons I chose this building.

Hey John, glad to have ya back in Jersey.

Im still running your tune, with the same mods. Car runs like a champ.

You will have to drive it again since now the suspension was re-set up by Robispec.
