I have been wondering if a polymer lower would be better(or not) with a piston upper.

I don't think they would be any better or worse than a metal lower. Polymer lowers are, in general, just less expensive to manufacture, but don't offer much of a difference when it comes to pros and cons for certain builds besides lower cost and slight weight savings.

For an AR pistol, I'd absolutely recommend one due to the few ounces you'd lose. For a piston build, I don't think you would see much benefit or negative in using one.

If anyone spots any Reloder 15 powder anywhere in DFW let me know. Gunmaster and Cabela's are out for a while and I don't like paying the hazmat fees for shipping.

I'm taking the SBR plunge with a MK18 mod 1 build. Paperwork has been sent, and now comes the wait.

Trust or local CLEO approval? Tomorrow is 6 months since my Form 4 went pending. Hoping for a call this week from my Class 3 dealer!

Lucky! I went the trust route since it seemed like the easier (but more expensive) option. I've heard that I could get a CLEO to sign off in Tarrant county, but with the trust I can eventually add a suppressor.

I just placed a Midway order for a new cheekpad and some mags for my .308. I also ordered a mirage cover from TBAC

With the trust, you can add almost anything you want. Like, say, a FA lower.

Actually it's a TBAC. David did my transfer and I brought over the new mirage covers that TBAC is selling instead of TAB these days so he could look them over. You almost can't do a transfer with him without talking shop, and the guy knows tons. Really the only reason I went TBAC is for the brake attachment (and I got a really good deal on mine), but I got to see the new QD/BA design he's working on and it looks really cool.

Did you get a Tigershark from him?

I picked up one of Midway's as their largest one is able to fit my 51" cannon and the .308 at the same time. It has tons of pockets, I think there's an internal one that fits a can, I just haven't explored it enough. I looked up the Tac Ops bag and it looks very similar to the Midway one.
