That really sucks. I hope you didn't get a defective product. I still cannot adjust my pipes how I want them but they are about 80% even since I rushed the install and didn't bother lining them up properly. However, they are perfectly flush with the valence. Give the guys at Nameless a call. They always have great customer support.

I certainly thought so...I think it'd be cooler if they'd just push cat-backs (or you if you work there). I'm not hating, just seems that it kind of limits the choices for mid-pipes and splits. Also...it would be genius to offer some duct work that was 2.5" for the guys making big power...and honestly, I haven't looked too much into nameless. I like Invidia because it's great bang for the buck and it eliminates a great amount of weight and I don't need a dual or quad tip set-up to go fast. Cheers mate.

I don't think you know this but Nameless Performance is already working on a midpipe and catback.

The midpipe + axleback = catback. Yes I'm sure the Invidia eliminates a great amount of weight when compared to your stock cans. However, our axlebacks eliminate much more weight as they are muffler deletes. I'm not sure why you think Invidia offers great bang for buck. $900.00 is alot of bucks imo.......... A $300.00 axleback which saves weight, sounds great, and the ability to go full catback or even turboback is a much greater "bang for buck"

Invidia N1Race was far less than half the cost you mentioned...

total price for my TBE which= AP catless DP and N1Race Cat-back was less than 750...which is by far less than 900 you quoted me for just the CBE. I'd be interested in custom pipework for sure...it'd have to be 3.25" all the way back with a single oval tip. If nameless can make that happen they have my money already

Oh sorry I thought you were referring to the Invidia Q300 catbacks. Yeah the N1 is a great exhaust, but I didn't go that route since I wanted to keep the quad look.

That's much better. Your last post read like the a lot of immature comments on NASIOC.

Jason will get in here and answer the posts that he needs to.

I don't work there nor have a I received anything but friendship and information. They have borrowed my stock TBE and I've run a prototype axle back for a few weeks.

I've never ran any Invidia products. But I have run a Tsudo N1 (single tip WRX) knock-off. So I have an idea what your car sounds like. I also have a stout Protune.

Right now I'm running a single tip TurboXS from a 2008 WRX. I know that Nameless is working on a mid and down pipe. Hopefully they ask me to try them out as soon as they are ready.

That probably accounts for the $200 difference.

You bought them used? Is there a possibility that the previous owner tweaked the hangers to make them fit his homemade midpipe? Just a thought. The main adjustment front to rear is the alignment at the flange.

Have any photos?

The best way I can tell if the hangers are tweaked is by sitting each of the pipes on a flat surface hangers down. They should balance on the hangers, not tip over toward the flange or the tip.

And yes we are working on a midpipe which will allow us to sell a catback as well. Our intention was always to convert this into a full catback.

Jason,

Is it wrong of me to assume that to have a very good fitting GR hatchback exhaust we'd have to buy your to-be-released catback? (Based on your write up and others saying that the axlebacks don't fit well).

Part of the confusion here, for me at least, is the mix of sedan and hatch owners in this thread. Since this has been moved anyway, why not make a couple more focused threads? Just a suggestion.

And again, I can't justify placing an order without seeing fitment pictures on a hatch. Please post pics soon someone!! I would have expected Nameless to do this before releasing a product tho... not hating, I think we now understand you are a small crew doing big things, just polish up your current products before moving full steam ahead onto new things

I have read through this entire thread and have only read of 1 person that is having fitment issues with his axleback exhaust and I think he bought it secondhand and was probably modified. I agree there needs to be another thread or at least a way to differentiate between those who own this exhaust for the '11 STI/WRX sedan and the hatch.

I personally own this for the '11 WRX sedan and it fits perfectly. The tips are perfectly flush with the valence. The only think I'm annoyed about is that I have not gotten my tips lined up perfectly yet but that is my own fault for rushing the install process. I've seen many guys with quad tip exhausts that are a little uneven, I'll probably tackle that this weekend and finally straighten them up.

Honestly they are a small company but they produce top notch polished products. Haha but I do agree with the more pictures part.

xabre, thanks for your insight. My main point about separating or distinguishing btwn hatch and sedan is that I am pretty certain that the hatch exhaust will have different fitment issues vs the sedan exhaust; which is obvious because they are completely different exhausts.

I bought it from someone who had the axleback on for literally 2 weeks. He did not do any adjustments and he did not have a custom midpipe. You say the adjustment is at the flange, well, there is no way to adjust such. Unless I expand the side of the holes, use smaller bolts, or a combination of both. I have expressed my thoughts on adjusting the hangers in that any change to those would through off where it sits up and down or side to side. Adjustments to the hangers would have the same affect as moving the rubber hangers forward or back. The reality is, as soon as I tighten the bolts down, the entire pipe shifts, thus pulling it back from the valance. Based on all the adjustments, it truly seems like the pipe is just too short.

This is exactly how my sedan is coming in this month. Looks sick man. Did you paint or vinyl your trunk trim. I will be getting one of these axel backs soon after my car arrives. I wish they offered a muffler for it on the sedan though. I dont want any backfires or pops when I rev it. Maybe I can figure out a way to add muffler to it later or a better resonator.

Oh, at first glance I thought you were pearl white. My trim will not match as nicely as yours until i do some mod to it. Maybe yours is the color that Subaru intended it to be. I will be looking into a light smoke vinyl on the trunk trim and fender trim. Looks sharp though. I got mine without the spoiler too. (gurgling) to each his own. LOL

My hatch axleback finally arrived! Here are a few initial pics. It says magnaflow on the muffler which confused me. I was thinking this was an exhaust built from the bottom up. Maybe they are using the magnaflow as a core and gutted it out? Jason, what did you guys do? Anyways Ill post up install pics later tonight after the stock exhaust cools down a bit.

Nope. It's not altered in any way, just a Magnaflow muffler that we chose for this design. The alternative is a Chinese or overseas muffler. It's a radical departure from the exhaust design that Magnaflow came up with - theirs is 180 degrees backwards to that and has another 270 degrees of slip fit bends included in it.

Sounds awesome, you're going to love it.

Let me know when you start doing production for the GD, I'd love to support a small American company! You've impressed this consumer

^As far as the Magnaflow; it's SOP. My P&L exhaust is simply a P&L midpipe with a "modified" Vibrant muffler. Nice rusty hangers!

Yeah we didn't want to use anything made overseas for mufflers, especially when we can avoid it. Too many weld failures and perf pipe failures. These hold up great for us and are made in L.A. We tried the Vibrant hangers also - they bend like butter which is convenient for the end user, but they rust instantly despite being 410 stainless steel. Wipes right off, but it's not what you want to see when you look under your car in three months. We make all of our own hangers from T304 bar stock - .5" OD, which is not an easy feat to bend or form, so no detents on the ends...but it works great and stays bright.

Gotta use what you can find a lot of times. Not like we're going to make our own mufflers at this stage of the game. Later on probably, and for weird applications like Porsche 911 race cars we are planning some conical designs that aren't available off the shelf but were employed throughout the factory race team careers.
