You're about two weeks too late or I would have bought the gate

You just need to mod the civic a bit. I recommend green neon glow lights under the chassis.

So as I merge on to 28 yesterday and stand on it I shortly after overheat. I let it cool and after 4 pulloffs I get it home staying below the red.

Last night I start the burping process (heater would pump cold air). Once last night and then today something weird happened. Following the service manual I held it between 2-3k for about 8 minutes when the fans kicked on. BUT...with my foot still on the gas the thing started oscillating between like 1-2.5k for 5-10 seconds. I then tapped the gas harder and it went back to normal.

Was this the air working its way out or the ECU playing games based on temps and throttle %?

i dunno what your situation is, but pretty sure your loss of coolant isn't the cause of an issue, but a symptom.
if you didn't fix where or why it lost that water from to start with.. then its' just going to happen again. and warp something. EJ engines don't have enough mass to take running outside their normal temperature or pressure range(cylinder, not boost), i'd say you're lucky it's not trash already.

Well, I cut my upper hose open a week or so ago to install a temp sensor to monitor things better. It alarmed me once i crossed 90°C so I caught it immediately, while the stock gauge was starting to climb.

Perhaps I didn't get all the air out then. But it drove steady until this happened.

Sorry about that! I try to be brief.

I changed my thermostat in the summer when it went. No issues until Xmas eve when I drove home from Haegerstown MD in a driving snow on the turnpike/70. Half mile from Breezewood it started climbing towards the F U line. Turns out about 3" of slush/snow was blocking the radiator.

So, after that, being quite paranoid, I installed a GReddy D/A Multi Gauge. Oil pressure and coolant temp are hooked up, coolant a week or so ago.

These air pockets make my hair grey!

Tip to help get all the air out of the cooling system!! Use and old cv boot(clean of course) and stick the small end in to the rad opening. Fill as normal and while u run the car check your coolant levels. The boot acts like a funnel to hold extra coolant as air comes out and seems to help the air escape in stages lol. Then top off as necessary. I thought one of my fellow technicians was crazy when he pulled it out but I'm telling you it freakin works. So much so that everyone who doesn't have the snap-on coolant tool uses a cv boot!!

That's going to be tough. I find it hard to do private sale on anything over $10k.

Why the change?

Yes! Cuz they repeat the same **** over and over again. Another reason to not listen to the FM band.
